Adam 'afisher' Fisher

Adam "afisher" Fisher - Freelance 3D Character Artist
Comicon Challenge 2011 2nd Place Champion. Adam Fisher is a freelance 3D character artist based in Australia. With an advanced Diploma in art, Adam began his career working on small games for various clients. In addition, he created art for simulation studios and also did a few lectures. As time passed, he developed a passion for character art, and because of this, he began to focus his efforts towards this new goal. Fast forward to recent years and Adam has now created & worked on characters for various games, cinematics, collectibles, and toys. He won Editors Picks and Top Row awards from various cg websites and his work has also been featured in several magazines and books, including 3D Artist, 3d Creative, and Ballistic Publishing's Exposé Art Book.


Alexander Stepanchikov

Alexander Stepanchikov - Freelance Character Artist
Alexander is a self-made freelance digital sculptor and 3d character artist in games. Stationed in Moscow, Russia, he created art for both U.S. and European clients and worked on various characters for games like Killzone 3, Borderlands 2, Dragon Age II, Natural Selection 2, Batman: Arkham Origins, Subnautica and many more. When not busy with work, Alexander loves to push his limits with art challenges, where he received many experiences and emotions creating beautiful characters for Dominance War, BRAWL, Comicon Challenge (placing 2nd in Comicon 2014 - 3d) and others. Stepanchikov believes that participating in worldwide art challenges is a fantastic method for self-improvement, to learn new techniques, and to have some creative fun. In 2015, Alexander is honored to be a judge for Comicon Challenge 2015.


Gunaars Miezis

Gunaars Miezis - Art Director
Based in Riga, Latvia, Gunaars always had a passion for art and visual language. It was because of this passion and because of inspiring films such as Star Wars, Robocop, Predator, and many others, that he began a journey in art. What began as a simple hobby quickly escalated into a full fledged carrier. Now, Gunaars is able to create the marvelous creations he envisions and currently works as an Art Director for a game called "Cloud Raiders."


Hector Marquez

Hector Marquez - Character Artist
2nd Place champion of Comicon Challenge 2008. Hector Marquez, aka El Scorcho, is a ten year veteran character artist. Growing up, he thought to emulate his older brother, a mechanical engineer, and make cool robots and other fun stuff, but he quickly realized how hard and boring math was. One day, when a TV commercial aired for a local video game school, Hector's direction in life changed for the best. Hector has always had a great passion for art, and he also enjoyed playing video games, starting with atari 2600, so embarking on a journey of art was an easy choice. Fast forward to 2015 - Hector now has awards under his belt, has been featured in magazines, and fully enjoys his chosen career in games. Hector currently works at Robot Entertainment.


Jose Mª 'Ballo' Lazaro

Jose Mª "Ballo" Lazaro - Freelance Character Artist
Jose is a 3dartist who specializes in character modeling and texturing and who has been working as a professional for over 8 years in both games and films. Jose placed 3rd in Comicon Challenge 2009 and grabbed the top, 1st place, champion spot in Comicon Challenge 2014 with his entry, Brainiac. To date, Jose continues to enjoy taking part in online CG competitions because it's good to keep creative and test, or even surpass, your limits. Comicon continues to be one of his big favorites.


Dmitry Parkin

Nicholas "Panick" Cort - Senior 3D Artist
Comicon Challenge 2009 2nd Place Champion. Nicholas Cort is a 10 year veteran in the video game industry. He studied media technology in college, followed with additional studies in computer game design. Currently, he works as a senior 3D artist at Machine Games, who just released Wolfenstein: The New Order. Nicholas previously worked at Ubisoft Massive, as a 3D artist on World in Conflict, Far Cry 3, and Tom Clancy's The Division. In addition, Nicholas also took part in a small concept design team creating prototypes for yet unannounced projects. Nicholas's strengths include modeling, sculpting and texturing – which his 2nd place standing in Comicon 2009 demonstrates. During his spare time, he enjoys serious gaming, 3d modeling/scuplting, and a new passion - weight lifting.


Yaroslav 'Erigo' Grigorash

Yaroslav "Erigo" Grigorash - Character Artist
1st place Champion of Comicon Challenge 2011 and 2nd place champion in 2010. Originating from Ukraine, Yaroslav has worked as a character artist for over 9 years. His career began with vfx and games and throughout the years, he has worked with clients like Digic Pictures, CD Project Red, Capcom, and other major studios. His creative works have received awards with major websites such as CgArena, 3d Creative, Dope Awards, 3d Artist,, GameArtisans, 3DTotal and more. In addition, Yaroslav's art has been featured in an assortment of cg magazines across the globe. When not busy with work, Erigo enjoys riding his bike, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family.

Dengyijia Liu

Dengyijia Liu - Concept Artist
Dengyijia Liu is an experienced concept artist and illustrator based in Montreal, Canada. He has content creation experience in both video games and films, and has worked with companies like Behaviour Interactive, Meduzarts, Artifex Animation Studios, Side City Studios and today, Triotech Amusement (theme park video game). After working with clients based in Canada, America and UK, Dengyijia has developed a wide range of digital content creation skills. He enjoys creating character, creature and environment concepts, and also fancies using, from time to time, traditional mediums for more conventional type paintings. An interesting project he currently works on is creating designs for high tech personal equipment suites for a company called Mawashi. During his spare time, Dengyijia enjoys teaching art as an art instructor, watching movies, traveling, and hanging out at coffee joints with friends.


Edwin David

Edwin David - Art Director
Edwin David is constantly involved with many things creative. He has been a comic book artist for Marvel Comics, Image, and TopCow. He was a fan favorite for Legend of the Five Rings CCG. He received various awards on for both mini and main challenges and his art has been featured in various magazines across the globe. Today, Edwin is an Art director and Concept Lead for Pigpen Games and at night, he enjoys creating illustrations for two online comics, titled ShadowChasers & KungPao Kingdom.


Lap Pun 'C780162' Cheung

Lap Pun "C780162" Cheung - Concept Artist
Lap Pun Cheung works as a concept artist and illustrator during the day. Originating from England, he currently resides in Germany where he takes part in the game content creation industry. Outside of work, LapPun enjoys working on personal projects and considers himself a classical geek – someone who enjoys watching films and playing games, especially if they are science fiction and/or fantasy. He also enjoys hanging out with friends and when the opportunity presents itself, traveling. LapPunCheung took a 2nd Place standing in Comicon Challenge 2014.



Marat-ars - Concept Artist
Marat is a 2d/3d artist from Russia who, since 2005, specializes in designing character, creature, weapon and equipment concepts for games and film. His work can be seen in publications such as 3D Artist Magazine, Digital Art Masters, 3D Creative Magazine, and more. Online, he has been featured on,,,,, and others. Professionally, he has worked on Neverwinter Nights 2, Magic the Gathering, Dungeon and Dragons, Saints Row 3, The Sundering, Infinite Crisis, Marvel Series, Legend of the Cryptids, Galazy Saga, Chaos Drive, etc. When not busy with work, Marat enjoys playing the electric guitar, going to the gym, watching movies and of course, playing video games. In addition, he enjoys entering an online challenge or two every now and then as he devotedly continues to perfect his skills. Currently, Marat works as a concept artist at Universal Studios.


Sergey 'mikrob' Samarskiy

Sergey "mikrob" Samarskiy - 2D Illustrator
Sergey is a self-taught illustrative artist with 5+ years work experience in games. Originally a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Sergey constantly longed for something more – something that would enable him to create the fictional stories and characters he imagined. Soon after graduation, Sergey began a journey in art. After months of hard work and constant training, Sergey developed the skill-set needed to give form, substance, and life to what he could previously only imagine. Today, as an artist, Sergey never stops trying to improve his skills and is always learning new methods with photoshop, Motion Design, Sculpting, Oil painting, Storyboarding, and others. Sergey was a 2d Team Champion for in Blizzardfest Challenge 2014. Today, various major projects for social networks keep Sergey busy.

Chance Glasco

Chance Glasco - Senior Animator
Chance Glasco graduated from Full Sail University in 2001 with a degree in computer animation. Shortly after he began working as an animator on Medal of Honor: Allied assault, before leaving with 21 other developers to start Infinity Ward. As one of the founding members of the Call of Duty franchise's team, senior animator Chance Glasco has had a profound impact on the last decade of first person shooters. Since launching in 2002, the series has grown into one of those rare titles to break out of the confines of its medium and become a cultural touchstone on a mass scale.

Chris Scubli

Chris Scubli - Senior Generalist/VFX TD
Chris has always been a big fan of sci-fi in media, and started practicing CG as a hobby in his early teens. After finishing high school, he decided to fully dedicate himself to CG. In time, he created art for TV commercials, music videos, game trailers and online web-series. He is probably best known for his StarCraft fan-animations, such as StarCraft First Contact and StarCraft Final Metamorphosis. As a freelancer, he has created trailers for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, Red vs Blue Season 10, Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. With over a decade's worth of experience in the industry, he is now a senior artist at RealtimeUK, working on CG trailers for games like War Thunder, Smite, World of Tanks, World of Warplanes. He spends his free time playing video-games together with his wife, reading sci-fi books and seeing movies that involve CG.

Raymon Fong

Raymon Fong - VFX Generalist & Animation Instructor
Raymon Fong's experience extends over a decade long career, as an honors graduate of Dawson's Illustration and Design program. He began his career creating small animations for the Internet. As the advancement of technology and the volatility of the businesses began to shift, he found himself migrating into the realm of film, video production, motion graphics and electronic signage. During this ten year stint he has worked on live events and videos and electronic displays for many major corporations and local businesses. Currently he teaches in Dawson's 3D Animation and CGI program in video compositing, Photoshop, digital painting, audio and video editing as well as working in the side business of mobile technology, user interface and application architecture design. In his spare time he is a passionate song writer, painter and musician.
