- The most successful at showing the monster's sheer size, and was one of the more technically well done pieces
- Very clean model and textures, great Zbrush work. The pose and the proportions of this guy do a great job of portraying his sheer size and mass. I love the way he is sunken into the ground too!
- Good proportions between different parts of the creature’s anatomy really help sell the beast’s size, weight, and strength.
- A very clean looking scene. Really well modeled with great texture maps. This creature really looks alive and it’s huge!
- I feel the sense of scale there. It's really solid modeling and texturing. Nice anatomy and surface details.
- Gavin's Leviathan was the best executed in technical skill, each step was well done and well presented. I especially like how he sinks into the muddy ground.
- The base mesh has good topology. The z-brush model is very detailed and believable. He made good use of the texture space.
- Clean topology, excellent craftsmanship and presentation.
- This was a tough one. This one doesn't really exude too huge of scale, but it does a good job and is one of the most technically well done pieces (not to mention it has one of the best presentations).

- The painting job on the "Winning Pose" image is superb and showcases the creature's full scale and anatomy. Moreover, the model sheet is equally well rendered and displays the creature consistently between all angles. Also, the design of the creature is very fresh--a mix between H.R. Giger and Cthulhu that makes this aquatic creature venture far from a more traditional Kraken look.
- Great painting! I love all the elements in there working together to show the scale. As a 3d artist, I would find it very easy to work from this concept. It provides enough detail to convey a clear direction, but it also leaves some room for imagination.
- Great sense of scale and action. The rendering is really nicely done.
- I like the different exploratory sketches. I wish there were more; I really enjoyed these. The final image has a nice rendering quality. The water is nicely done, so is the translucent quality of the tentacles.
- Out of all of the submissions I felt like this was the best executed and most compelling image. Though I also was really struck by Brain Hagan's drawings so I'd give special mention to his work as well.
