It's time to show us your way of the NINJA!! Naruto, a famous hit japanese anime series, has people everywhere talking, singing, drawing, and even wearing costumes about this awesome show! So this month on GameArtisans.org, we want to see artisans bring many of these legendary comic or tv characters to life! You may alter, stylize, redesign or create a realistic impression of your favorite Naruto character. The choice is yours! Good Luck and may the best ninja win!

Universal Guidelines: No reservations. Artists may create the same, young or teenager, character. However, if you choose your character early, you may dissuade others from picking the same character. |

3D Challenge Specifics
Create a game model based on any of the characters in the hit series: Naruto.
You may create your model to look exactly like he/she does in the show or you may redesign a few elements and give him/her an interesting twist. Keep it the same, make him/her realistic or make him/her even more stylized, the choice is up to you. Since artists may pick the same character, final presentations play a key role in determining which 3 ninjas will be the victors of this challenge.
The Constraints:
A maximum of 5000 tris
1 1024x1024 diffuse
1 1024x1024 normal
1 1024x1024 transparency
1 1024x1024 specular
1 1024x1024 emissive
1 1024x1024 reflection
For each 1024, you may break it down into smaller units. Example:
4 512x512 diffuse
4 512x512 normal
etc
A pedestal (not floor) may be included. This pedestal can use unlimited polies and texture sheets but
can contain nothing for your character to pick up and use.
2-sided polies with two separate uv channels are permitted.
Joint entries are allowed! Teams of two maximum. One must be a concept artist and he can not touch
anything 3d. Additionally, Concept artists can not help with a models textures and scene environments.
He must only create the concepts, nothing else.
3d Artists, if they wish, may submit their concepts into the concept category of this challenge.

The Judging:
Incomplete entries can still be submitted, but they will not be judged.
Judging is based on, but not limited to, the following:
- Does your recreation look like the character you chose to recreate?
- Technical difficulty
- Silhouette
- Final presentation


Concept Challenge Specifics
Take any one character from the naruto series, and make a slight alteration on him/her. This alteration can be the costume's design, hair style, render style (realistic, more stylized etc) or even a change of weapons.
The Deliverables:
A final illustrated concept of your altered character.
A black & white or single color (example light to dark blue etc) modeling sheet that shows at least 3
angles of your character. Choices include: Front, right, left, perspective, and back view
A minimum of 6 black & white or single color (example light to dark blue etc) initial rough draft thumbnail
sketches.
Joint entries for concept art challenge are prohibited.
The Judging:
Incomplete entries can still be submitted, but they will not be judged.
Judging is based on, but not limited to, the following:
- How well you make a revision without totally loosing your character's original personality and charm
- Technical difficulty
- Pretty colors
- Accuracy of Modeling Sheet
