About Mini Challenges When a DW Mini Challenge launches, each participating forum opens a single 3d and 2d thread for artists to post their progress in. After reading the rules, artists must select and represent 1 of the 11 forums engaged in Dominance War IV and once a forum is chosen they cannot later switch teams for all Dominance War IV related events. Mini Challenges have extremely simple topics and polygon budgets but they are very intense since they only run for 9 days. Before a mini challenge ends, artists must submit their final entries into Dominance War’s entry system and when all entries are in, a 6-day public voting process begins. When public voting is complete, the best artists from each forum move into the final professional judging stage and both Epic Main and Mini Challenge World Champions are announced in June 2009.

To commemorate a new class of competition, Dominance War's first ever mini challenge is based on a modified theme from Dominance War I - War General Portraits. 2D rules in brief: Create a portrait of a leader capable of leading troops to victory! Your war general portrait can be from any time period and any race. As long as he/she/it looks like a war general, has the appropriate team war logo somewhere on the body/clothes, and has the appropriate team colors (gold and black for GA), everything is good! 3D rules in brief: Artists are to take one of the pre-made unwrapped models and finalize it with details, colors, background and/or an expression. Your war general portrait can be from any time period and any race. As long as he/she/it looks like a war general, has the appropriate team war logo somewhere on the body/clothes, and has the appropriate team colors (gold and black for GA), everything is good! The Final Dominance War IV Mini Challenge starts May 15th 2009.

When Dominance War IV's main challenge is complete, the rules for this final 9-day mini challenge will be revealed. Start Date: May 15th 2009

When each Dominance War IV mini challenge is complete and public voting has ended, the best artists from each team moves into the finals. The amount of artists sent from each team is determined by the total amount of participants on each team. If a team has more then 20 participants, their best 3 artists move into the finals. For every 15 participants over 20 (4 at 35, 5 at 50, 6 at 65, 7 at 80, 8 at 95 etc) an additional artist moves into the finals. Any team that has under 20 participants, the dominance war core team must determine if any entries should move into the finals. Example: If GameArtisans.org has 100 3d participants - 8 best entries will move into the finals. Once the best participants from each forum team have been found, they will be judged by a team of Dominance War IV Final Judges and the Mini Challenge World Champions will be revealed in June 2009.
