It’s original intention was, and still is, to give honest news about all things Playstation. Since the launch of PS3 there has been a lot of F.U.D. (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) spread around the internet thanks to viral marketing campaigns from competitors. SDF is here to cut through the mess and give straight answers about the Playstation Platform.

As a owner of a stupendisly superior next-gen console the Playstation 3 it is my DUTY to open your eyes to the REAL truth about the ps3!

Ok, ok, I get it. The PS3 is the most advanced system out there right now.

If the price actually drops below $400 then I'll pick one up... and I'll set it right in between my 360 and my Wii.

Wow... thanks for posting this. I have not laughed this hard in a long long time. This site is seriously funny. :lol:

Whether or not everything they say may be true, it is presented in such a way that you cannot take anything they say seriously. It is all just more hate, more hype, and more fanboys whining because everyone in the world does not think the same as them. It is completely one sided, narrow minded, garbage like this that turns customers away.

I'm not saying the PS3 is a bad system, only that this is a bad site.

I mean come on, I've seen more fair and balanced coverage on FOX news.

Wel its obvious that the Wii is not a Next-gen console and not near the level of the ps3, and just for the record the ps2 is going to be marketed more into the direction of the wii but with better graphics and with teh already huge abundance of games and immence following it will lead to the deathbed of the Wii!

Hilarious site ;) The intentional/unintentional humour aside, it's always good to be reminded that more often than not, fanboys only make their favourite products--not to mention themselves--look bad.

I love the site and this thread.

keep it up guys, my giggle system might overload. Could wake up with a red ring of death on my forehead. Won't be able to make game art for 4 to 6 weeks.

My two cents are - the PS3 is a fine system, but Sony (policy) has made complete crap out of it, and the only, the ONLY reason it's still barely in the running, so to speak, is because of the trust (read: hype) people get for the Sony Playstation brand name, and not the actual console, it's games, or it's price.

If Wii or the 360 had made even half of the mistakes that Sony has made so far, they would be dead and buried by now.

nintendo has made the same mistakes sony has, if not more. the wii and the ds have saved nintendo, but i think they had to make the mistakes they did with power gloves and virtual boys and staying with cartridges, not moving to Cd's,.. the list goes on.. nintendo made most of its mistakes at the height of its popularity at the end of snes' life, sony has to make those mistakes too, hopefully it wont take them as long to learn as it did nintendo. I think once your on top for too long your head gets too big and you have to be put in your place, it keeps you on your toes and it keeps the industry interesting.

i use to hate the ps3, before i started at insomniac, but now i can honestly say i like all the systems, there are great games for all. i am still holding out on ps3, right now we make the only games i would want to play. i think thats all about to change though, there is some really awesome stuff coming out, a lot of it i cant talk about, but i have seen some truly amazing things in development from the sony camp.

the mentality of fanboys confuses me so much.. it doesn't matter what system you have, i don't care, if a game comes out i like i will buy it, i don't think twice on who made it or what system it is for. i wish these people would grow up.

Hey, i don't care either way. The games i want to play are on 360, so that's my thing. I just can't afford buying a PS3 just for 1 or 2 games.

But you did prove my point - Nintendo did make those same mistakes, and look what happened, both N64 and the Gamecube flopped (they still had profit, but they flopped in mass market terms). But the PS3, although Sony committed a lot of mistakes, and frankly only has 1 or 2 great games in it's catalog, is still hanging in there, in the running. A lot of people, due to the domination both PSX and PS2 had in their generations, still think the PS3 is gonna rebound and be the winner, there are people that think the PS3 having MGS4 is gonna save it. My opinion is that it's still possible, but only due to brand name hype and recognition, not the actual system or it's games.

While the N64, Saturn, Dreamcast, Gamecube, they all flopped. I still think the Dreamcast was better than the PS2 at the time (ie much better and more creative games), but the Sony brand name won out, not the actual console's quality (which was good).

There is no question that Nintendo has made its share of mistakes, heck the playstation exists because of Nintendo's mistakes. They have had to fight hard these last few years to regain a lot of what they gave up because of some of the choices that they made. Keeping with the cartridge for the 64 hurt them, but not supporting 3rd party games as much as they could have hurt as well. With the game cube they tried to correct their mistakes but could not fully repair the damage that had been done. it was a great system, but they could not get the 3rd party support that the system needed to survive.

I think the biggest problem facing the PS3 right now is Sony itself. i cannot count the number of press releases and interviews that i have read that left me baffled. Their own arrogance and smug attitude has turned away many gamers. add to that the high price and lack of worthwhile games, and you get the situation that they are in right now.

Given time i have no doubt that the PS3 will do better, but at this point, the system needs games to have a chance. MGS 4 and FFxiii will help, but until it has a library that is worth the price tag, things do not look well for the system.
