Hi everyone,

I'm having a question about MAYA gizmos. I am using the latest version of MAYA for macintosh on a new Macbook Pro.

1. When I put a UV map on the model, I don't have that little manipulator that you could use to move the map around before going to the UV texture editor window. Does anyone know where this is toggled on and off? I don't see it in the map options and I have never had it since I got this version of the software.

2. When I used the extrude faces tool in the past, it had that manipulator on it where it has the little ball you can press and that kind of thing. Now, there's no manipulator. I choose the "extrude face" command and then need to select the face and move it. Does anyone know where to get this gizmo activated again and how I turned it off?

Thanks for the help. I'm going back to using MAYA again after having not used it for the better part of 10 years and using MAX. I almost have it down, but there are still a few nagging things like this that I need to sort out. Thanks for your help.

1. You mean the gizmo you get after selecting a uv projection type, such as planar, spherical, cylindrical ect?

If so, as far as I know its a bit of a bug. I have found the gizmo displays after selecting the tool, but if you then press either select, move, translate, rotate ect it disappears. Undo does not recover the gizmo either. I have found myself just undoing and reapplying the tool if I need the gizmo again. However you can access all the attributes for it from the attribute editor so maybe there is an option to display it again from there?

2. Try seleecting the face first, then the extrude tool. I am pretty sure it always displays that way. (note that this gizmo also seems to suffer the bug/feature of the uv gizmo) I am unaware if it can even be toggled on and off, but the main options for the extrude is in the history listing in your channel box and attribute editor. If it can be toggled on and off, my guess would be it will be there.

I cant test these out for you myself since im not on a machine with maya at the moment :(
