I have some real concerns about what is allowed in my winning pose. Currently what I have planned is perhaps a bit optimistic, but it will include some occlusion of the entry's feet, and some effects. But no rendering passes or effects the are not possible in present or near present games.

Additionally I want a sky in the background.

I know some entries last year had pretty complex winning pose setups- some parts of the main entry were occluded. Chief Beef being a prime example. If an entry is riding a steed, or has a steed in the winning shot its almost inevitable that some parts will be occluded.

I need numeric values, dangit! If we follow the footsteps of last years entries as far as winning pose goes, are we safe?

This must be the first comp you ever entered:p You seem nervous LoL

For the winning pose, yes, you can occlude small parts of your character and you can also make complex yet simple scenes for your winning pose. If you look at the two fishies from last year's entries, they were rendered under the sea. So, if you put in a sky, this should be absolutly no problem;)

If you would like numeric values, I would say covering up to 20% of your character is fine. If you do more, you certainly won't get disqualified.. but it would be a shame for us viewers that we can't see your full character in all his 3D glory:)

Thanks for the clarification Fred! This puts me at ease. Just from reading other threads I almost got the feeling some of the entries that made it into finals last year would not qualify, for being overdone.
