Look it even says so down there...Render ArtistsFree Radical Design is a highly successful independent games developer based in Nottingham, England. We are currently working with Ubisoft and LucasArts on exciting ‘Next-Gen’ projects.We are looking for a render artist with a super-strong visual style, an eye for composition and good experience with 3D modelling and rendering packages like Maya and Turtle.If you want to work with the very best, be part of a creative team and make your own contribution to a creative environment, then Free Radical is the place for you.DescriptionAs a render artist, you’ll work on making sure that Free Radical shows off some of the sexiest art in the games industry. You will be involved with:Scene compositionHigh-poly modelling Lighting Whatever you have been doing up until now, we don’t care as long as you can demonstrate at least some of the following abilities:Familiarity with 3D modelling/rendering software (Maya/Mental Ray & Turtle preferred)Good knowledge of shader designTraditional art theory including:Image compositionThe use of colour theory and lighting to create atmosphereParticle systems and DynamicsKnowledge of lighting techniques such as:Global illumination, Ambient Occlusion, RadiosityAdditional knowledge that will help your application:Experience of 3D game environment creationNormal/Specular/Parallax-map generation/editingA developed interest in photography/film making CompositingExperience of PhotoshopThorough comprehension of rendering pipeline and the use of: Subdivision modelling, Normal-mapping, Ambient-occlusion Additional experience in complementary skill-sets such as: Drawing, Painting, Photography, MEL-scripting etc. Send us your CV, sample work and any supporting material to:Free Radical DesignUnit 1 Interchange 25Bostocks LaneSandiacreNottinghamNG10 5QGor email: jobs@frd.co.uk
