Got my machine up and running, surprisingly it is running very well for being a custom build. Im kinda afraid that something is going to go wrong with it, but it works great, thank you to everybody who gave me input and helped me with ideas to what to put in it.
I went with:
Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10000 RPM SATA HD
Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 1600 RAM
Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz CPU
Cooler master 900w PSU
Cooler master Case
ZALMAN Copper Heatsink
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 MB
XFX GTX 260 896 mb of ram

I went lower end for the time being with my video card, I am waiting on Direct X 11 to come out. I figured I would then spend the money on a good one, possibly even 2 and do SLI. I also have 2 250 WD HDD. Thankyou again.

Very nice build. I've been wanting to go i7 for a while now. When DX11 comes out, you should definitely consider looking at QuadroFX GPU's, if you like nVidia. They're expensive, but you won't have to buy another GPU for many years, lol.

I am going to look at the Quadro's. I hear they are the best for doing 3d work Video wise. My CPU came clocked at 3.07 ghz, I was thinking about overclocking it, but I am not to experienced in that field so I am just going to leave it alone. I am working on a project for school, I cannot wait to render and see how well it does.

I know I'm not going back to consumer cards (at least not on my workstation). Quadro's are great! :thumb:

Great looking setup adio38! :)

Sweet build, dude. I built mine almost 2 years ago now, needless to say -- its time for an upgrade...

My last build was almost 5 years ago. But that was more for gaming. Haha I just built this and I am already looking at upgrade parts lol. If I upgrade anything it will be to 12 gigs of ram, and a better video card. But I will do that later, also I need to get a bigger case. When I bought mine I failed to pay attention to the size haha. I got the Storm Scout ATX Mid tower, I love it cause it has 4 usb on top plus esata. But my video card barely fits, if I wanted to do SLI I would have no room at all. Does anybody have any suggestions about a good tower to pick up? I was looking at the Full Tower ATX, but they are also not much bigger inside. So I was looking at server cases. Thanks again.

Well, here are my current specs, for perspective...

-Smilodon Raidmax Gaming Development Case, Full ATX(the thing weighs like 50 lbs by itself, lol)
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400(Don't laugh)
-Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 3850
-DFI Lan Party Mobo 2600MHz FSB AM2+
-4GB G.Skill DDR2 RAM
-XClio 500W Power Supply
-Seagate 500GB HDD
-And lots of fans, lol

Like I said, I had been wanting to upgrade to an i7 for a long time, but the expense of having to buy a new mobo upsets me, but I'm almost sure I want to switch to Intel completely from AMD, so it'll happen eventually.

My card and processor are probably the most out of date things in my build. I want a QuadroFX(The cheap one is $500), because currently I'm unable to use a lot of alphas, especially intersecting ones, since my GPU goes wacko when I do.

Intel and nVidia are like Pearl and Zildjian to me, since I'm a drummer, that's why I make that comparison, lol.

Here is the link to my Mobo. I went with a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58. I was doing some research on it, and it is one of the best Mobo's for overclocking, that and it can support up to 24 gigs of ram. I got the i7 950 for now, but I figured once intel comes out with a new chipset or two, I will probably go with the extreme once it comes down.
