Here's a project that I started a long time ago and never quite wrapped up so I started mucking with it again and here's where its at. Looking for some tips from the pro's on where I've gone-a-stray and what should I be trying to improve.

Two quick crits ... I know it's the easiest way to do things, but I think you should unmirror your UVs, at least on the face. It seems that you're going for a realistic-ish model, and what makes most characters feel alive is some nice asymmetry. Just look at his hair in your bottom ref. I think recreating the curls alone could make a huge difference. Also ... he seems to have 'cankles' and be flat footed from the side ... some more definition of the ankle and knee shapes and slimmer feet would be nice. He's a pretty agile and athletic feller, so I'd really focus on the build of his lower body, as it could be stronger anatomically. I know, always tough to do with limited polies, but ...http://www.tracksounds.com/reviews/images/color/gladiator/maximus.jpg

made some changes on your suggestions. Thanks

I don't really have the texture space to keep the face detail and unmirror it. So I killed the banges and alpha'ed a new set. Also I increased some of the angles on the legs to make them more dynamic and gave a couple more polies to the heel and knee cap. Not sure If I'm going to pump in the need polies to make a heeled boot yet or not.

monitor is too dark to see just how bad the highlights in the hair and bangs aren't matching up. I don't think anyone else can see them either so it probably doesn't matter...till i redo them

thanks also for the additional ref pic. I wasn't sure what I was going to do for the boots.
