Yeah that's right, you read the title correctly "Super" Street Fighter IV! I'm not sure if this is going to be an expansion DLC pack or a whole new game. Knowing Capcom they're going to rake us over the coals and actually charge us Street Fighter fans full price for this.
If that's the case then I hope they add a sh%^t ton of new characters and a few new game play ("cough" tournament ) modes. I guess we'll have to wait and see when they release some more information. In the meantime enjoy the trailer!:)

Exactly, it looks like they just swapped their paint effects with their grass blades.
Maybe they will add some SF3 characters and stuff.
For me, I think it would be cool to add characters like Birdo to the mix.

http://www.beefjack.com/blog/news/360/super-street-fighter-4-rumours/
Old site post but judging that a lot of sites are following these rumours it looks like these might actually be true:
An update to smash hit fighter Street Fighter IV is rumoured to be in the works and some details of what could be in it have been rumoured.
Capcom, the games publisher, have made no comment on any of the following rumours but it is thought the update will be called Super Street Fighter IV and contain the following improvements:
The previously leaked characters are all said to be in the game. Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Adon, Cody and Guy. The new characters are rumored to be:
Hakan – An Arabic grappler obsessed with oil.
Juri – Evil Asian girl fighter working for Seth.
All characters will have two Ultras. They will both be available at one time, not selectable like with Third Strike’s Super Arts. The commands to execute your Ultras do not overlap.
It sounds like the characters from Third Strike are set up with their prior Super Arts. They had three in that game, so one will be their Super and the other two their Ultras.
Gen has four Ultras because of his two fighting styles. One of these is said to be an Air Ultra.
All characters still have one Super, except Sakura who apparently has a Shinkuu Hadoken (Super Fireball) as well.
Some characters will have Air Ultras.
The Bonus Stages will be returning.
Arcade location tests will start this weekend in Japan. This will be an exclusive arcade release at least for a few months.
An official announcement is said to be coming at the Tokyo Game Show and on the Japanese Street Fighter 4 blog soon.
Expect the return of the many familiar Supers, and a few new ones like Metsu Shoryuken. You’ll see the return of Chun-Li’s Kikosho (Super Fireball), Gouken’s Denjin, Sagat’s Tiger Cannon (Super Fireball).
Ibuki has a run command.
Guile has his Sonic Hurricane move from Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
Dudley has his Chain combos from Third Strike, plus one additional Chain combo.
Cody is the only character with an Alpha Counter and he still has his knife. He supposedly needs his knife to perform one of his Ultras.
Rufus can cancel-break the last hit of his Spectacle Romance, or the launch kick of Space Opera Symphony.
Guy has his Chain combos.
Makoto has her Tanden Renki Super from Third Strike.
Zangief is said to have a 720 degree motion Air Ultra called the Siberian Blizzard.
The game takes place one year after Street Fighter 4.
Dudley was searching for his car in Third Strike, in this game he’s searching for a rose.
T. Hawk’s storyline involves him protecting Juni or Juli.
Dhalsim’s new Ultra is called the Yoga Shangri’la.
There’s a new gameplay system called Tadan Saving, the phrase implies a multi-hitting or multiple-level Focus Attack.
The console characters are all said to be added to the upcoming arcade release, with the possible exceptions of Seth and Gouken.
So far it is thought that this update is only for the arcade game, but given the titles success on consoles it is extremely likely that the update will make its way there eventually, either through DLC or a new boxed game.
Gamespot have also stated that its worthwhile to keep our original SFIV discs.....
Maybe a cheap trade in offer?
Oh and...:

Interesting. Sort of makes me glad I didn't buy the original. Can't say I didn't expect a bunch of versions. :p
If it is dlc it will probably be the 1600 points or whatever the max is. I just hope the price drops on the original so I can buy the game and get a stick too without breaking the bank.:s
I've been tide over by playing lots of SF III Third strike, work even had a SFIII cabinet which I played a lot (crappy American style stick/buttons though).
Hopefully they release more info soon.

Some addtional info and images from Kotaku: http://kotaku.com/5369773/super-street-fighter-iv-confirmed-is-standalone-title
It sounds like the game will be sold at a cheaper price as well. My guess would have to be 39.99 USD.:paper:
That aside I'm willing to pony up the cash for Dejay and Guy, I must have them! The new character Juki looks pretty sweet as well, hopefully she's at a higher tier than the lame C.Viper!

Oddly enough it seems like they are doing a similar thing with Blazblue, adding at least 2 more characters and did some character balance revisions and are changing around the move sets a little.

Hey how C. Viper is insane in the right hands :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bk0yFxaAng
The problem is shes the hardest character in the whole game to play, but is high tier when you do know how.

Hehe well you could say that about any of the characters in the game. Try pitting her against a top Ken, Ryu, Akuma, or Guile player and see how long she lasts in the fight. The thing is the character is flawed, she lacks any real mid range attacks which leave her exposed to anyone who's good at trapping. Not to mention her aerial attacks are pretty weak, oh and how useful is her lame jump strong kick. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever lost to anyone using C.Viper, even guys with higher ranking than myself.:lucky:
Anyways I found some new video featuring T.Hawk and Juri:

By the way, how kick ass is Juri's Ultra! God I can't wait to get this!
