As some know im currently job hunting and what not but im also tied down to bolton through a housing contract, now bolton is a fine location as the transport is pretty good between here and manchester.
Except for the wee small fact that there arent many studios near Manchester so I found myself being asked how far I really am willing to travel each day to work.
So who wants to describe their daily travel quota?
Il start, looks like I might be travelling for an hour and half each day, to and from possible jobspots (so 3 hours per day).
Is that reasonable, would you guys put up with it? Whos done/doing it?
Sorry just one of those things that everyone is quiet on ;)

I had a 3-4 hour commute everyday like you will have and... my body basically gave up and went to shit. Stress and commuting killed me entirely and i had to go visit the doctors even and it took 2-3 months until i was feeling fine again. This was just during a few months of commuting.
I thought it would be fine but hey. It wasnt :)
Sorry for scaring you mate.
Now i have like a 30-40 minuter walk to work everyday and i love it. Exercise, waking up etc. Works like a charm. Wouldnt really trade it. :)

i drive about an hour each way (so i guess like 2 hours a day) and really its not too bad... well except for crunch time.. which happens alot then its a bit of a drag but i dont mind it too much. gives me time to think about stuff and just listen to music while i drive. mind u its alot easier doing that while theres not much traffic but u get my point.

when i started out i was living with my parents, so it was an hour and a half each way... and I was building up a lot of aggression, just sitting/ wasting time in traffic. Now I live in Austin and it takes me like 5 min to get to work... it has saved me from a bottomless pit of despair.
yeah, I've got a regular contract position that's 50 miles away. the first 30 miles go by in 30 minutes, the last 20 take an hour....
at least in the morning I'm on the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut where in most days I'll see either a flock of wild turkeys, a herd of deer or a coyote AND a lamborghini, ferrari, shelby cobra replica, or lotus elise :)

Seems like its almost the norm. So im not letting it phase me, besides if I get my 1st job, Il be happy to even have 1.
DR.Airguitar unlucky mate, at the minute im working in a bar, and although its literally 5 mins down the road I feel if i dont get moving towards animation soon im going to diiiiiie lol.
Obviously my 1st problem is getting an interview, but i think im going to look at commuting on the train in a positive way, doing life studies an what not on the way too work sounds so much better than trying to draw most of the regulars in the pub behind the till whilst serving lol ;)
Thankyou guys. My next post will be on salary and whats round about right ;p
