View Full Version : I need to transfer an animation from maya to max

Ahoy,

So I have an animation with influence objects and a muscle system in Maya and I need to get the animation in to Max. My clients last artist told him this could be done through Motion Builder but wasn't clear on the process. I'm trying the fbx plugin but i keep crashing max when i import. Any ideas would be helpful be it in Motion Builder or in Maya i just need to get this animation in Max for the final renders.

Hmm noone answered to you yet.

I'm no animator, but I transfered primitive animation using FBX (make sure to download latest plugins from autodesk site).
However for anything more complex, I hear bigger studios usually have the animation vertex data baked to the harddrive and read by other machines.
