Nuclear Dawn - Animators x3 (non-paid)
Job description and responsibilities:
Due to reduced availability of team members, the Nuclear Dawn (http://www.nuclear-dawn.net/)team is looking for 2-3 animators to help finish up various animation tasks necessary before a public release.
About the mod
A well established midification project for the Half-Life 2 engine, and comprising amateur and industry professional developers from across Europe and the United States, Nuclear Dawn (http://www.nuclear-dawn.net/)is a team multiplayer FPS with RTS elements set in the aftermath of a global nuclear fallout. Players can choose from 2 teams, 4 classes and 17 weapons, explosives and inventory items to battle it out with for resource domination.
About the positions
We're looking for 2-3 experienced animators to help out with a few first-person weapon animations, various animation cycles (run, crouch, jump, etc.) and some simple third-person weapon holding poses.
We'd prefer it if you work in 3DS Max 8, but anything that can output animation to 3DS Maxs 3.5 - 9, Cinema 4D, FragMotion, Gmax, Mayas 4-7, Milkshape 3D, or Softimage/XSI would be fine.
Having experience of working in HL2 or compiling models to HL2 is a definite plus, but not an absolute requirement. However, we must specify we are really looking for individuals with at least 6 months' animation experience under their belt.
Here are some of the weapons you would be working with:
Daisycutter and frag grenades (http://jonathan.nuclear-dawn.net/media/grenades01.jpg)
MP500 Raven sub-machinegun (http://jonathan.nuclear-dawn.net/media/smg01.jpg)
Hydra 6-shot grenade launcher (http://crispy.nuclear-dawn.net/media/renders/weapons_hydra.jpg)
How to apply
If you feel you have the necessary know-how and experience and could dedicate anywhere up to 5 hours per week to the project, send us a quick email and we will get in touch. :)
Emails to: crispy [ a t ] nuclear-dawn [ d o t ] net
P.S. I saw no rules stating non-paid positions were not to be advertised, so hopefully this post is fine.
