Hey all, as most know im job hunting and ive just been asked for an interview next week at Blade interactive UK, im shitting it.

Its:
1. My 1st job interview
2. My 1st job interview

Currently my lifes going to shit lol, and Im probaly going to keel over with the stress so any good tips to help me wing it? Im going to aim for a junior/entry position in animation.

Like what sort of questions would be appropiate? How long you think itl take? Should I overdress (suit?) lol.

And yes I know there are other threads nocking about on the same subject, but wondering if an animatoion interview is any different ?
Christ, im crapping it ;(

And on another note, the agency im with hasnt had word back yet, so far theyve talked to about 8 studios, i feel so disheartend lol.

Business Casual is a good bet, Slacks + collar button up shirt. I don't know if you've talked with anyone on the phone or not, if you have or will before the on-site interview, just ask about the work environment and dress accordingly. Just be well groomed and have clean cloths.

Ask the interviewers about themselves, that can get them talking for a while and take the pressure off of you. Ask about the area if you're not familiar with it already. Places to eat, drink, whatever you do outside of work. Talk about games, other hobbies. Don't talk about ex-girlfriends; nagging parents; asinine coworkers; drunk clients spilling their guts on your bar (figuratively and literally), maybe if it was someone famous. If you have a laptop bring some work in progress (preferably something they haven't seen already) and talk about your process and how you approach designing an animation. Takes the attention off of you and the interviewers, especially if its looking like no one's got any questions and its still twenty minutes till lunch.

If its anything like the interviews I've been to it'll take most of the day. Start off mid morning, lunch with the artists, back for some more show and tell and then wrap up. You probably have to wait more to hear if you get an offer or not. The bigger the company the longer it'll take to hear back; also depends on how well they think you fit with the rest of the art team. Don't worry about money or benefits. You can negotiate that after you hear their offer.

Good luck dude!

Well Im back, in one piece too after rush hour traffic ;)

Asked everything I could remmber and it was a really good 1 on 1 interview, took me around the place and i got to see all the cool toys/wip. I was definately nervous but it was made easy for me heh.

General feel is good, art guys are outnumbered something stupid which is awesome hehe. From what I was told there are 2 animators there so itl be busy busy. I was told for a junior 14k is whatl be offered and Ive an animation test to do yet.

So overall im happy, think il definately be making it a go ;) Cheers for the advice everyone, madea real difference going in there with it ;)
