God damn i loved the first game. Didn't actually play it until a few months ago (absolutely hated the demo, which is why I postponed playing it).
This will be a first Day buy for me.

Looks AMAZING!!!!! I saw the poster with the necromorphs the other day but those screens are awesome. I love their character design.
some bits I found
new concept art (http://kotaku.com/5422104/more-dead-space-2-art-dug-up-from-beneath-the-surface)
Poster Teaser (http://kotaku.com/5420055/dead-space-2-teaser-message-decoded-by-many)
I watched a mate play the first game and got scared stiff haha so picked it up and only got to chapter 3 as Im a wuss and had alot on at the time, but Im going through my games again which I never finished. Just done mass effect which was fantastic and I think a return to dead space is now in order :D

Mass Effect, ya been hearing alot of that lately. Wish I had an Xbox so i could try it and see what all the hype is.
There's also a PC version you know. :)
ME is great, really epic story and great locations. Although the side quests are repetitive as hell, the main quest is freaking sweet.
I've never played Dead Space myself, but I might pick it up soon though, you guys really spiked my interest. :)

depending where you go you can get it between 20 and 40 cdn, and the controls are supposed to be a lot tighter on pc.
i got DS last christmas and got half-way through before i got distracted, but the parts i did play were pretty awesome, and creepy as hell. need to finish that...
did anybody watch the anime movie they did for it? it wasn't spectatcular, but still a decent backstory/lead up to the events in the game

I was actually really close to picking it up today when I saw it. But then I remembered the anime of Tekken and reconsidered my purchase... :)

yea I thought the anime was pretty poor, story was nice but the actual animation and art was very bad which made it quite tough for me to watch, like the hellboy anime. The game on the other hand .....WHOA-BABY!!!!! very pretty :D
very surprised by mass effect, when you let yourself get into the story its really engrossing. Environments are really nice too, especially virmire.

I got Dead Space, but never made it past the first room, been busy. And had it since launch.

Accurate up to a fault. Minus the smile, I never smile playing Dead Space. Also, if you're interested in the story like I am (but don't want to buy DS:E on the Wii), youtube a walkthrough for the story. In terms of a prequel, it's much much better than the animation. It explains a lot including why the ship is so fucked up when you arrive (in terms of barricades, missing parts, broken this and that etc).

just read on ign (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/105/1054063p1.html) that not only is it going to have multiplayer, but Issac is going to be talking now...
i dunno, there's not a lot of actual information in that article, but it reads to me like they took all the fans input and changed the stuff that did work instead of the stuff that didn't.

Playing Dead Space right now. On Chapter 4, first time through. It is one of the best games of the 360, in my opinion. Absolutely hooked. When I turn my box on at the moment I actually hope none of my friends are online so no one persuade me to play MW2 instead!

Seriously, you need to sit down for a few days and play through it. You won't be sorry that you did.
It was easily one of the best games of last year and far better than RE5 IMO.
Hopefully they were able to rework the creatures, they were the only thing that felt lacking throughout the experience.
That said I can't wait for this issue to arrive in the mail.:D

I mostly agree with what Marcus said. The game is absolutely brilliant, the atmosphere is on a level that few games can touch. And yeah, I felt it was better than RE: 5 as well.
I can't agree on that statement about the creatures, though. I thought they were scary as hell, very well made, and impeccably animated. The designs were very interesting to look at, and creepy at the same time. I wanna look at them, but I wanna look away at the same time.
I'm excited for the second Dead Space. I don't know about the multiplayer though.... Doesn't really seem like it would fit that universe at all. I mean, a Dead Space Deathmatch, in all honesty would be borderline retarded. The ambience is so overwhelmingly great, and to throw deathmatch in it would be... well, not so great. [EDIT] I'm not saying I think they're going to put deathmatch in, just using that as an example.
But then again, I've been proven wrong with games before, and I'm sure it'll happen again. I just wanna play the SP campaign anyway. No online for me, thank you.

Would be cool if you could hide somewhere and spring out on people.

Yes I agree, the creature designs themselves were fairly imaginative and disturbing, same goes for the animation.;)
My main gripe was actually with the execution of the designs when brought into 3d. They felt "overly busy" and suffered from some poor texture and shader work. They looked like animated messy globs coming at me instead of organic creatures. "See image below"
I'd love to see the artists pull back a bit and let the actual details breath and work with the silhouette rather than fight it. Hopefully they would've gained some insight from the last production experience and learned that less can actually mean more when it comes to visual fidelity.

AH, ok, I see what you mean now, and that screen really helps drive the point home. That dude really is a mish mash of yuckiness. It's the more "regular" creatures I was talking about. That looks to be the big thing that grabs your leg, and pulls you down the corridor, as opposed to the regular walking creatures you face more often.
But still, after a little google image search, even the guys I was talking about had that noisy feel going on. Guess it was just my memory of them. Really need to play that game again.

Definately agree with everyone, if mostly for the fact that the animators on this did it real justice!
Some of the later creatures really crapped me out by just how they moved ;D quite a conundrum when im trying to appreciate the work, whilst trying to run away, lol.
