Duel Competitions

haha, seems like there are some 'duel' competitions poppin up.

they'll be nice to see, and it'd be nice to see if GA gives em some special attention in terms of the sidebar [popular threads] and on the homepage.

are they worth a new sub-forum? dunno.
but i figure they'd be interesting enough to get some attention.

possibly even interviews?
i dunno.

just some random thoughts.

yes, this is in response to seeing the "Gavin vs ThatDon" and the "Tryforce Vs. Kalango" threads

i like the spontaniousness of it, so if you make a seperate forum for it it'll kinda make it an obligation or something... i don't really like the idea. making them stickys would be cool though..

hum...but would be indeed cool a new subforum at the wips forum, we could even organize 2x2 comps hehe, like concept+modelling and even animation, or splitting the comp process in 2 like modeling to one and texturing to the other one(of the same team)...anyway Fred knows what to do...

A sticky might not be bad but, personally, I know Don and I started ours just for shits and giggles...not really to have a commitment or this big "to do"..just wanted to have a little fun on the side (if you know what I MEAN!) So, like mentioned above, creating a whole new forum for it might make it more into what it's intended to be and take away the "spontaneity" of the whole idea.

Fred and Gavin: I thought about OPEN DUEL Competitions idea aswell.
for example, in Gavins thread,Gavin and ThatDon seperate team Leaders.
But There are more than one contestant in one side.
Like , Thatdon and Fred --- Gavin and kipiripi ?

Actually I like Animal Warriors subject and if it was an OPEN DUEL Contest I would like to be part of this :)

I don't see anything wrong with other people joining, but I think everyone is missing the point of our little thread, it was to get away from comps and the deadlines that go with them.

Dual comps are cool. Been watching their progress. For now, we will probably just leave them where they are, but if more spring up, with your advice, I am sure we can find somewhere to put them:)

I like the whole duel contests goin on at the mo, though i agree that any solid threads should be left alone until they pick up in regards to popularity and number, which im pretty sure they will do in the future! Stickying them is a good alternative until then, as suggested by Japhir.

And it is!!! Its so nice to have a commitment and inpiration to model and yet have no commitment at all:rolleyes: ! Hehe i dont model in months because of no inspiration...so this helped me a lot...and the duelers can pick the theme...for now i will go with the flow and say "let it spontaneous...untill it explodes" :dude:

I think you should let the dual stuf as it is. But!... maybe it is a nice idee to make a co-op (mini) challenge. Where there are 2 or more people working on te same thing. Think of 1 makes enviorment 1 a good guy and 1 a bad guy or 1 makes a vehicle and some others make passengers.
