I envision this guy sneaking into enemy territory and blowing something up. Got the concept and base model done so far.

something to put in the gallery when completed... Keep up the good work.

Looks decent so far, I suggest adding some muscle shape/flow in there though.

Going to define the muscles after getting it into ZBrush, but I agree that he looks a bit malnourished right now. Small update:

It looks like his but is sticking out too much.. Or his back is arching too much in the guts area.
For eyes, try using a sphere so you can animate it later.
You've got edgeloops going on, that's good. But there are quite some triangles, i don't think you wan that. They cause pinching in Zbrush/Mudbox. Try avoiding them or using arsh's basemesh for a sculpt and model your low poly around the sculpt (if you are interested I can link you to arshvelon's basemesh).

nice start, I would say check your proportions.

Body proportions were modelled from this. Are you referring to the face proportions specifically?
I'll try to remove more triangles from the face, but I have no idea how to model in only quads. I always end up being forced to put a triangle here and there or else parts will get extremely dense. I've heard of this "baseman" mesh and would love to see it, but mostly for poly-flow reference, since I'm trying to learn how to do this stuff without starting from another person's template.

when you want to terminate detail like in the mid brow. draw an edge to the middle of an edge then from the adjacent point draw an edge to the middle of the triangle you made then move that point so its not triangular anymore. i have an example for u. plus a few areas i cleaned up.

Twindragon- Your example is a lifesaver. I was able to completely rid the head of non-quads. I'm going to try to do the same for the body (hands will probably be about impossible though). Thanks.
ShadyD- Thanks for baseman, should come in handy.

Give us a front/side of the face. I Think the face proportions are kind of off.
Mind showing the reference you used for the head as well? (just to prove my ass wrong, if I am wrong)

Now that I showed you ways to get quads you should focus on giving the polys a better flow as well. Perhaps if you can put a relax on the face you can make some of those quads look less triangular and more rectangular. Or just move the points by hand. Look at some face models for reference. so that you can get your edge flow correct.

Yeah, after all my tweaking, the proportions were way out there. I fixed 'em I think, and smoothed out the edge flow. Might have too many eye loops now. Mesh includes hair, btw.

Started on the high-poly model. I'll do his accessories separately.

looks excellent,
Make sure you pull in the sides of the face in the z axis...abit flat

Begun texturing the low-poly. Normal map mostly done, Diffuse started (not yet done head, vest or accessories yet though).

Still need to do specular and paint the head. Left my graphics tablet at college so I'm holding off on painting the head until I go back.

Mostly done now, just need to do some finalizing. I'd love some feedback before I add this to my portfolio, so any critiques would be great!
