Hi all , i try to make a "serius" concept for game model (i try to become a complete chara-artist :brick: ) , and this is the first of my list to think to do !
After some tutorials i start to try the grayscale way , but now im in trouble with colors! Anyone have good tutorials or tips for coloring this ? (sorry for english, im half-sleeped now, feel free to correct my grammar too :) ).
Ah i forgot to say I take my ispiration from James Hawkins - Gear of war works for make this.

nice! very clean design. i'd widen his chest a little more in the ortho's, in the 3d view it seems wider then in the ortho views

its kind of a mild gears suit with a bit of the terrean from starcraft mixed in with it. i like the style, any color scheme ideas?

Once you finish your greyscales, you can start having fun doing selections and creating hue/saturation layers to give you a rough idea on a color scheme. Once you have a color palette you like, you can further fine tune things with a brush and add additional details with photos as overlays (for grit, dirt etc). Could be cool to see a hint of tubing on him too. Something around his neck area to make it look like oxygen is being given to him through his armor. It's just a thought, might work, might not. Aside from this, it's looking good so far:thumb:

Japhir : you are right, i try to fix the upper part of armour soon.
Frozan : i think to use a military green for the armour and brown for cloth or just a dark blue for armour and dark grey for cloth like italian special force (G.I.S.) is a hard choice :).
FredH : thx for the tips, i try to color it wen i have some free time, for the neck area, this model is thinked for an Unreal Tournament 3 mod and is thinked like a base armour with some different head and helmet, aniway the oxigen mask is a good idea thx ( i want to make the model customizable by player).
