Hello guys!

I´m watchin´ you for pretty long time here without showing any of my models, so time to be active...

Just started texturing, so here are my two textured pieces:
My very first textured model, based on my pet named Lister (his whole name is David "Cinzano Bianco" Lister, by the character from Red Dwarf)
http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/715/chinchillavm1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I made this in september. As you can see, needs some work around the seams. First try, you know... I have already had this fella rigged, but I was kinda remaking model, so I lost it...

On the present I´m texturing one of my older models, originally made for ying yang comp. on Threedy in August, so here are the old grabs:

http://img413.imageshack.us/my.php?image=xportwiregrabs2706py8.jpg

And here´s my texturing try (rendered with 75% self-illuminantion):
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2244/xport01ns8.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

And here is the textured model with three omni lights in the scene:
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3018/xport02hg6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Still very smooth and VERY wip. Legs and arms are just sketched. Nothing final. I also didn´t expect getting that far on this so I left the UV´s the way I made them that long time ago, so now I expect some serious troubles with seams... At least it´s going to be a lesson to me.

Thank you for your time and, you know... any comments or critics are welcome.

His potbelly seems overwhelming to me. Even if you don't want to model a penis, you should still texture the pelvis.

Nice stuff though!
I'd use some more colors on the naked man though.

if you dont want to model the penis you might want to give him some tighty whities. Either way you might want to give him a crotch area right now the legs seem like their coming out of his gut. but not too bad for your first stuff.

Cute chinchilla and the Ghost-D guy looks good to. I don't think it's to important how his pelvis looks like since that part will be covered up by clothes *whishfull thinking*

But I can clearly see alot of seams in the textures that you might wanna cover up.

Ok guys. Thank you for your feedback.
Now I´d like to hear your opinion on this one progress:

Which version do you like better? The difference on those two models is in the way the collarbone is made.

Simply write A or B. Thank you.

Btw. I´ll try to show you more progress and kinda concept for what I´m going to do the privy part like tomorrow.

B is defined better in the texture but A has better shape IMO

Japhir is right about that. also the belly seems very flat at the bottom.

look at reference

I think he needs a bulge at the very least, even if you don't want a pee-pee. And yes, you need to get reference. Draw things out first to really see what is what and where goes where. It is a good start. Just keep pushing yourself to the next level. And the next. And so on.

Thank you for your opinions, guys. I´m going to use that A version (but I´ll try to define it better like Japhir and BuroKun mentioned, of course).

Burokun - Yes, the belly is pretty flat on the bottom. I´ve got a seam there, and I was kinda planning to match all the parts around the seams at the end, when everything else is done and I´m sure I won´t be doing any changes around those areas.

_tdc_ - Thank you for your comment. When I was starting this thread I forgot to mention, that this guy is an ogre. My bad. But you´re right that I should draw a lot. Although I tried to make this guy believeable as a complex organic model, I´ll rather try some human model based on some reference next time.
As for the pee-pee: I was kinda in a hurry yesterday, so I´m showing you what I´m going to do the pelvis area like now:

http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/8537/concepttv5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

From the back view you can see, that I´m going to make his "covering" in a Tanga style (btw. the butt looks kinda strange. It´s because I smudged the seam going through the area on the render in photoshop).

Btw. As you can see from my yesterday´s post, I remade the UV layout a bit, so the seams around the shoulders dissapeared. That would be a real pain if I didn´t remake it...

Hope I´ll have something new to post during the weekend. Cheers.

Hi there!
Here are some wip´s I did couple of months ago:

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/4659/xportforestwhitakerpa8.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/2083/xporternestocheguevaravi8.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

It´s a little higher on poly count right now.
Right now I work on my texturing skills (mostly SDK´s). Hope I´ll be able to show some of that stuff later too.
