New Boards

I dont know how you guys feel about this sort of thing :paper: but 4chan just re-added their 3DCG board for 3d modeling and that sort of thing. If you frequent the boards, give it a look. If not, it would be awesome if some respected members of this site were to make the board halfway decent. Also, you might want to wait a week, since it was put in not 1 hour ago and the "random" board is all over it. Also, though the blue boards are supposed to be safe for work, you should know that they usually arent. part of the reason it was removed 5 years ago, was because it turned into a 3-d porn board. Hopefully the mods get on this and delete the threads as fast as they can.

No offense to you, but 4chan is still kinda the toilet of the internet. All of the worst sh** ends up there and just kinda floats to the top. People have been trying to clean it up for years and nothing seems to work. It has become a futile effort at this point. This is why a number of offices and unis have just outright blocked it with the porn & malware sites.

I looked at 3DCG. It might be new, but I can't say that it's worth the time of most members here or on places like CG Talk, Polycount, or 3D Total.

1) Too much cross-talk
2) The inescapable NSFW content, legal or otherwise
3) No structure or direction
4) Far too many newbies or talentless hacks
5) An overabundance of meme waving trolls
6) Endless garbage posts that say or contribute nothing.

If you like it then good for you. To me, basically, 3DCG is still just 4chan and all of the negative that implies. It's a lawless place where trolls are born. There's just no classing it up. I like my crap in the bathroom not on my PC.

but, unfortunately, im a long time /v/ browser (one that likes to discuss video games) and the new boards (literature, math/science, 3d) are pretty awesome for me.

pretty much anything except the misc boards, porn boards, and /v/. Everything else has some good discussions. /v/ is mainly /b/2.0. That makes me sad.:paper:

Also sites like 4-chan and Lol meme cats making our Spelling skills regress to the point a caveman could spell better English, or a room full of monkeys can bang out Hamlet.
