I was Bored, and was thinking a lot about 3d since watching avatar, and seeing a tut on 3D World, i did not follow that tut, but I think the results are fine.

Spent all of 5 minutes figuring out how eyes work and made this template.

its made for red and blue glasses & green and purple glasses .

so I set this up for myself, its pretty simple/

in the max file

you can move the eyes controller, to move the eyes around, the focus to move the focus, or the rig controller to move the whole thing. avoid moving the cameras independently, or if you experiment, keep a clean copy.

render out the left and right, and save them off, I render them at my screen res so I can see it full screen.

in the photoshop file, paste your images, (grayed out) in each of the designated layers, essentially overriding the ones there.

save off a jpeg, put on your glasses, watch it full screen, share your images!

I'm sure you can do this with movies also, using a after effects or equivalent method.

The lighting is pretty simple, but I will leave that up to you guys to play with

also don't know if this is in the right section, its off topic, not game art exactly, but could be thought of as tutorial.

cant wait to almost taste your high res models :) Enjoy :thumb:

I wouldn't say it's not game-art related, seeing that stereoscopic gaming is not that uncommon. :)
I actually reckon it'll be more widespread when the first real 3D monitors/TV's are released.

Either way, stereoscopic is fun to play around with. :)

Interesting tutorial videos from the 3Ds Max master Louis Marcoux:

Zeke3D, you might be interested to read about the comfortable steroescopie section. Hope that helps.

Cheers!
