This is a character I made for an idea I had called dino wars. Dino saurs - dino wars get it :D . Anyways I was inspired by gears of war and wanted to model a high poly character so this is what I came up with. I am posting him in the wip even though he is pretty much finished to get some feedback and see if I can change anything such as the pose or texture etc. He is sitting at 10,766 polys without the gun or base. Enjoy.

looks nice, you can see the "GOW" in it. If I would say anything. maybe make the armor less saturated. and the armor texture looks very flat, mainly on the legs.

He's come out really great. I'd recommend putting a little more colour variation in his head and to put a little more work into his armour's glowies. I think if the lights were as big as yours then you'd see some of the light detail like in this pic (http://www.partstrain.com/images/The_Auto_Blog/audi_nuvolari_led_headlight.jpg) or this pic (http://tm-techmark.com/touareg/bulb%20swap/original%20lit.jpg). And don't forget to update your sig :)

I dig, yea add some color variation and work on your textures. other then that it's looking solid!

I think we need to see this with plain white lighting from a few angles if we are to really be helpful as the lighting on this image is quite strong, cool model though :)

Wow, nice model, choice of colours great. Maybe a little touch to his eyes for more expression and I am not keen on any outlines black, white etc - it gives a sense of cutouts?.... my 2 cents. Can't wait to see him finished, Twindragon

position of the eye patch straps wouldn't keep it on his head. Rightmost one should be moved down two frill-horns or so.

are you using yellow lights on him? the entire thing is oddly jaundiced.

cool model, though. reminds me of triceraton toy from TMNT

last time I saw this piece I thought it was wicked, kind of reminds me of those battle beasts i used to play with

Thanks for the replies guys.

Burokun - I think the saturation is from my lighting..it is green armour so the mix with the yellow lighting could be causing it to look oversaturated.

MBT - I was also thinking the head might need some color variation. As for the lights I will give that a try and see how it looks.

Sir Rodriguez - It will be done.

Ged - Ill get that up asap.

Amethyst - Originally I wanted to have him so he was in an environment, explosions and laser blasts flying over head so I just opted for the cutout.

Sectaurs - when I made his eyepatch I was exploring ideas how they would go around his horns etc and in the end I decided they were magnetically attached lol. The yellow lighting is if there were an explosion off camera that lit him up on the one side.

Tweaker - Thanks.

Great model man, are you gonna animte it later?

Good attention to detail in this one, a lot of things going on in the texture, although as stated it does look a bit oversaturated. I did a little desaturation and contrast "paintover" just to get a better grasp of it. Will remove it if you object to me posting it :)

I really like what you've done, and I'd be very interested in seeing a wireshot, and texture sheets + high res :) Also, try dropping him into xNormal (http://www.xnormal.net) and take a screenshot as it's being rendered in realtime there. Just to get the normal map go pop a bit as it's being lit from one source.

Great detailing. Definitely what a dinosar would look like were he a Cog :thumb:

Great looking character. Loving the overall look of him.:thumb: East nailed it about the over saturated look his "paint over" was a good starting place.

2000yearsoldman - Oooo animate. I'm not sure about that I hate animating lol.

East - I like the desaturation you did. Makes it a bit less gaudy. I will see about putting it in xnormal and see how it looks too. Ill post the wires textures and hires for you.

Ironmonkey - I agree.

Wires, high rez, and textures look great Twin:thumb: .
One question did you do the high rez armor in Z brush, mudbox, or native 3d package.
