Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody knows of buildings that use elements of Gothic Architecture (flying buttresses, pointed arches, ribbed vaults, etc.) but with more modern types of materials such (steel, iron, cement, etc.).

If it's not too much of a bother, could you also give links or a name to an example of this building/buildings :)

The Chrysler building comes to mind. It's more modern, was built in 1930 and has definite gothic elements like Gargoyles and whatnot. But the whole style is considered Art Deco.

Check it out here:

They even have pictures of the gargoyles.

Other than that, I don't know really. That's the only thing that comes to mind

Check out the Woolworth building (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolworth_Building), it's an interesting piece of architecture.

Wikipedia and Wikimedia's sections on Gothic Revival architecture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_Revival_architecture) have some nice examples, even if most of them are 19th century.

Gaudi's Architecture is very modern but also fairy like.

Sagrada Familia in Spain

This building looks made for a video game..it's really unlike anything I've seen before.
