anyone have a recommendation? was thinking of purchasing one of these for work and at home...ive tried image synth before and really liked it, but would like to see if anyone has any opinion on either. thanks.

yeh ive use image synth its pretty god for random stuff but to be honest I use the old photshop hand made way the most.I feel I have more control

Just do it by hand. It gives you more control. I tried these a few years ago, and yeah, when I was banging out terrain boards for flight sims, it was needed. But now, it's better to do it by hand.

By hand. Unless you absolutely have to cut corners because of time constraints or an overwhelming number of textures, old school all the way. A program can output some amazing results, but it'll always lack that personal touch of a skilled human artist. It may take a bit more time than an automated process, but the end result is always worth it.

Besides, creating seamless textures is a very basic skill. If want a program to do that sort of mildly inconvenient grunt work for you because you simply don't know how, or can't do it well, then program choice should be the last of your priorities.
