Lovely! I wasn't expecting this to go up so soon. I guess GA never sleeps. Ok, well, here's the idea:

Wych
Starlight Appleby has the same problems all 13-year-old girls have parents, money, homework, the boy she just fell in love with happens to be a vampire, the usual. Until one day she awakes to a world where the adults that haven't disappeared have gone crazy. And an evil coven is trying to use a new force to take over her world of magic: technology.

The world of Wych is a relatively fanciful every-day-is-Halloween kinda place. Sort of like a Tim Burton flick with a bit more color and whimsy. The villains will be the opposite of that cold, gray industrial looking mechs and soldiers.

I am working on a concept for a broom/staff. I'll probably do a couple before posting. That's why I have her posed this way. I know I only need six ideas but after my last contest performance, I wanted to be good and prepared jumping in. Here's what I got so far:

anyway,... looking at your character reminds me of "bewitch"...heheh

She doesn't look that young in most of the sketches on the top row..... maybe it's just the sketches... I think the younger ones are on the bottom row... I think I would explore more with the first and last on the bottom row... as they don't seem like a predictable "witch"...

dkvdeeto: A kind of Bewitched flavor was what I was going for for the character to start. So good to know I'm headed in the right direction. Can't wait to see more sketches on the Dragon dude, BTW.

iworkat: The top row of concepts are definitely more skewed towards a classic witch concept. I definitely am liking the hair from #5 and I might work on the outfit with some elements from #2 and 8... still pondering.

I actually like the top row which but they're too similar to the stereotypical witch. That may not be a bad thing either. Also agree with the bottom row being younger looking. I think in general a witch no matter what era she's from shoul have mostly black, blue and purple colours so I'd say once you stick to these types of colours it will give a good witch feeling. The brooms all look cool. My personal fav is the second from left.

BD Stevens, the character's leg that is cocked to the side seems off in proportion. Just being a critical eye. Good job. One of your staves inspired me.

I've been doing a lot of sketching on this one but nothing is really making me happy so I kinda feel like this may be another one down the tubes. Hopefully now that my schedule has solidified a bit more I can actually work on having a real art style. Good luck to everyone else.
