Other forums have already reported open calls for sponsorship. I am not sure on the start date. However, it WILL be taking place. That much I know to be true.

I think that everybody is anxious to whup some @$$. By all means. Strap on the gear. Load your weapons. Lace up the combat boots. Just wait while the truck gets filled.

The key here isn't just to do DomWar3. The key here is to do it right. So, I'm sure our fearless leader FredH has a plan. Be patient though. Good things come to those who wait. You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles. :)

As far as the participants go.... I'm pretty sure that the whole CGChat thing is a no go, at least as far as I'm concerned. Like you said, pretty much everybody from there is here now. Besides, as much as I truly respect their admin guys, they're impossible to contact. Coordinating anything with them would be like asking God to tea and biscuits. Hell, you'd probably have an easier shot at scheduling that. :p

Modeling man, there is always cgsociety if you are looking to freelance your talents:lucky: Polycount are already monsters and 3dtotal will be pressured to defend their title, so cgsociety might be a good alternative. If GameArtisans enters, they would probably be the underdogs this year...

I got an email a little bit ago.. I can't find it now, but I recall it mentioning that the first "official announcement" would be in early January. So I'd guess around Jan 14 since the WII challenge ends on the 7th.

i remember before they were trying to get people together to do an animated trailer for dw3, does anyone know if that happened or is still happening? that would be awesome to see. Especially if it had appearances by the past winners.

Yeah. A teaser trailer is something that takes a bit of time to conceptualize and execute. With most volunteers trying to fit this stuff in-between work, I can see how it'd get put off. It is time consuming and draining, to say the least.

I, for one, and knee deep in storyboards for my own stuff right now. If I have to see another thumbnail sketch... BLAM!!! Cookepuss brains all over the wall. :lol: I can certainly empathize.

The important thing is, the fight rages on and GA will smite its enemies with untold fury, strength in numbers, and tossed monkey feces. Errr.... forget that last one. That's just a revenge plot I've got in the works. ;)

I will hopefully have a bit of time for domwar3 in between work this year :).

I think it would be cool and great advertising if the top 5 or 10 models were rigged and put into a game for the winners. I know this means alot of extra work for organisers but it would mean that the competition actually results in something people can take home and show off to their friends, even people who entered the competition and lost would have something to enjoy. And will Dominance war include environment artists at some point?

i reckon a domwar unreal tournament 3 mod needs to be made. personally i think it'd be the bestest thing ever just look at domwar specs then look at unreal/gears specs pretty much made for each other :mugs:
