Here's a concept I'm working on for my next game model project.

I was trying to go for a fighting game character, something along the 'shotokan' characters in the Street Fighter games, but evil, yet not akuma. i think a lot of frankenstein ended up in it unintentionally, but whatever, i'm cool with that!
and since fighting game characters usually have two different variations on their costume, a rough of this one & the other can be found here (http://www.jaredlewis.com/3d/dai/DAIGOROCONCEPTART.jpg)
All thoughts are welcome!

you can make him totally frankenstein if he, when he punches launches his whole underarm from the rest of the body, but still attatchd by a bit of skin or sewing string. Hope you know what I mean.. special attack maybe as a long range attack.. like dhalism with his stretching arms

thanks, evil. those are certainly neat ideas lol but i'm only looking to model this brute right now, not plan out his move set. i was kind of thinking of him in more tekken or doa terms, just straight forward, true-to-style fighter really, none of the fireballs from sf or goofy gore gimmicks from mk (i love sf but i don't like mk very much). initially the idea was just some giant karate punk. the frankenstein element was kind of a happy accident lol. if i do play up the undead aspect, he'd probably be a bit like bryan fury. wasn't he dead & resurrected at some point? fighting games have the worst storylines. lol
thanks!

here's kind of the final. i like this guy for some reason so i want to get to modeling pretty quick, i guess. the 2P's a bit rushed (especially in the geta & those faded tattoos).

I like the left one a lot. His expression, together with his coat and tattoos, really works well. The right one is a little strange. When I first saw it, it looked like his waist was missing. His white sash really makes it look like his upper body is floating separatly from his lower body. Not sure how you will fix this, but I am sure it would only take 5 minutes to fix:)

The 3d model should be very interesting to see.

I assume in a game you wouldnt have a full white background, so the white cloth wouldnt pose a big problem, just make it a tad dirtier.. I like the barbwhire, and pants.. but I dont like the ghouki ball necklace.. its to.. done.. try giving him something more unique.. maybe a big aztec calkendar disc or something

yeah it'd take less than five minutes, it's just the background. i wasn't paying attention when i etched it out but that's like a shirt that's tucked into that tan sash & then left to fall to the back of him. i might dirtier or darken it a little, but i kind of like the stark whiteness of that versus the rest of him. i might actually lighten the torn up under layers of his hakama to match closer to that.
as for the necklace, i usually give a lot of characters i do that same necklace (and i wasn't paying attention to the akuma/gouki factor in this) lol but yeah. i might either just alter the shape of them (longer necklace, smaller beads, steel?). but i'll change it, either the look of them, or to something else completely. i'm not sure about an aztec thing. it takes away from the other three elements that i'm trying to play up a bit more, namely the japanese, the 'punk', & the 'frankenstein'. lol

thanks for the comments though guys!
