Job description and responsibilities:
Game Artist at Playfish (Tromsų, Norway)
Playfish is a newly established social gaming company headquartered in
London, England. With solid investors in the background and a strong
team of veterans from the gaming and mobile industry in the driving
seat, we have a unique opportunity to attack a new and exciting sector
of a growing market for social games.
As a company we focus on quality and innovation, something we hope to
create from a positive and creative team culture where people feel
ownership and enjoy what they do. We are looking for highly motivated
people with a just-do-it attitude who are excited about creating
something with others in their team.
As a Game Artist at Playfish you will be creating art for games across
multiple platforms, primarily 2D art for web and mobile. This includes
creating characters, environments and UI. You will be involved in the
complete development process from start to finish and have a strong
influence on our overall product.
We are looking for people with strong foundation art skills, solid
understanding of colour and the ability to take something from concept
to completion. We believe that raw talent combined with a positive
attitude is what is needed to succeed in the game industry.

- Experienced with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and similar
- Varied portfolio
- Experience using 3D tools such as 3DSMAX and Maya is a plus
- A wish to learn from others and be in constant development
- Someone who is open for input and enjoys working in an iterative and agile process
- Ex demo-scene and/or relevant game experience is a plus
- Experience as an old-school pixel artist is a plus
