This was a fun project that I did for a Blizzard Contest. The Hydralisk was always my favorite Zerg Class in StarCraft so it was only natural that I make my version of one. Kept the polygon limit pretty low as I was shooting for something around 4,000 triangulated polygons. I used Maya for modeling/rendering and Photoshop for the texturing, background and special effects. Constructive criticism always welcome - thank you.

that is cool man. we zerg supporters should post up what we did for the competition. mind if u put up multiple perspectives of this guy? personally i did an ultralisk :thumb:

Nonetheless, you did a very nice zerg trooper there George. I am a little unsure about what is going on in the background though. Is it a planet being consumed by fire? Or some form of a force field?

hey man i like the model itself but that final render doesn't do the model justice. just seems too busy u know?

Ah, it's nice to see the wire frames. After seeing your domwar entry, I think you have improved since this blizzard comp.

I can't remember, did they show everyone's entries? Or just the winners?

I am pretty sure they just showed the winners and runners up but don't remember actually. It was a learning experience... characters are not really my focus but hey I can only get better right? hehe.. ;)
