Lol, did you have to put the basketball net in?:p The vibe reminds me of that Gaterade commercial: A dinosaur vs a pro basketball player.

If I had one beef, it would be that they don't look like they are looking at each other. It seems like two seperate pics. But besides this, once again, it's a real cool concept man!

it's neat, but if you're going to throw in the basketball curve ball into the works, i'd say go all out. Make the helmet gold like the O'Brien Trophy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:LarryOBrienTrophies.jpg). incorporate some sort of shiny hardwood into his shoulder gear (or what's that orange bit near the face? maybe the boards as kind of like a grill there?), give him thick poofy old school wrist (maybe tentacle) bands? or I'd say go with the best basketball accessories ever... big-ass goggles like kareem abdul jabaar or horace grant!

Awesome concept, very unique. My only critique would be to add more basketball elements to him. Much like Kurocrash was saying. If you took the hoop away then you wouldn't be able to tell that this monster was a giant mutant basketball... thingie. I'm not sure if you're aiming for this, but since basketball, much like any other professional sport, is a mental game, use that to fuel your inspiration for this character. Pressure, screaming fans, injuries, etc. I'm not sure how you'd incorporate this type of stuff, but it'd be cool if this monster represented the mental game of basketball.

Then you could animate it and sell it to Gatorade or Powerade... lol. :)

Beautiful concept man. I usually suck at basket ball...but going up against that thing, I think I'd just wet myself. I guess at basketball games they have "Shoot it from the cntre and win some cash" type games...this one could be "get a basket before dying and win $1,000,000!"

his face is looking a lot broader than i imagined upon seeing the profile in the concept. especially the spacing between the eyes. it makes him look pretty brutish, but seeing as he's a basketball, you'd kind of think he was huge, but also agile.

hope you're able to squeeze in some time to work on this some more!
