Oh ... the sketch was the first that came into my mind but in this small
thumbnail it is looking like a crazy zebra.

But my intention is a demon which is made of bones and stones.

I will work on the concept ... a freaky huge zebra was not my intention. ;)

What’s your inspriaton for this since it sounds pretty cool. I like the big bones and stones direction since you can really have fun with the anatomy, textures, etc. You should check out the Bones dragon from Ninja Gaiden: http://www.ntsc-uk.com/reviews/xbo/NinjaGaiden/01.jpg

funny, with that sort of lurch he has going on, i was thinking of a minotaur, or maybe just a brute with cow skull helmet or something. eager to see the full version!

Make him wear it as helmet! Good to see you in this comp, ChrRambow :D

Thanks!

hehe ... a helmet like that could be funny ;)

I am working on the concept and will post a full version asap.

Update on the concept .. i hope now it's a littlebit more clear what i am aiming at.

The concept is looking much more clearer now. Perhaps to stay focused on scale, you should keep the human in for proportion checks. Right now, your giant doesn't seem, well, giant. He looks human sized.

ChrRambow

Just some very small progress on the concept.
I hope the scale is more visible in this one.

The final concept will contain the human for shure.

Ok i've decided to start modelling ... so i am working out the concept
and model nearly together... like i did in the dwar2 too.

The workflow was interesting and really fit into my needs.

The challenging part for me will be the fur.
I really would apprechiate any hints about good looking fur/hair
alphamaps for game models.

Not he seems to be out of bones, stones and grass/fur.

I will buy the Peter Jacksons Kingkong game today because
the fur seems to be great.

I do not really have a clue on how to do the legs ... i tried serveral ones.
Those demonic legs will fit into the concept but maybe i can find something
more original and interesting.

And some more progress ... i've yust blocked out the arms/hands to
see the proportions.

just another shot to clarify the proportions.
I will make him a littlebit higher thant in the last shot.

Nice start on the model, it's starting to look like something out of the black & white series.:)

I hope it's not bad ... because it was not my intention.
Not that i do not like the characters in B+W ...

Very nice so far ;) He indeed looks huge .

I like the semi-mask deal. Reminds me of a character I sketched a few years ago

Bone-faced Alien (http://galleria.godsphoenix.com/albums/batch/sketches01/humanoid001.jpg)

I think it should be biped, centaurian would be typical with its current face. But, hooves or elephant like feet would definitely work.

Hey thank you for the hint with the centaur ... because i do not was thinking about it. Sometimes a punch at the back of my head is helping. And you did it well ... Thanks again! :)

a quick update on the concept.

digging that newer concept. i like the tower/citadel looking thing sticking up behind him rather than the tree in the previous. with the tree, it kind of looked like he was carrying around a park on his back lol
ilike where that tower is, but f you're going to mount buildings on him though, you've got a centaur lower body going & you have a lot more surface area along his back that might end up looking empty. maybe add towers or little things above the legs? kind of like 'outposts' that could me manned & danger could be seen coming from any angle? just the building up top on his shoulders, while cool, throws off a bit of balance. keep going though!

oh, sorry... another idea, how about have an entrance for the tower at the base of the upperbody & have the tower extend up his spine? just a quickie idea that came to me as i hit post lol.

Kurocrash has a good point about continuing the structure on his lower back, it be a shame to let all that surface area go to waste. Keep em coming ChrRambow!:thumb:

Hey thanks ... and sorry for the lack of updates.

I was really lazy this weekend ... enjoying nature,
spending more attention to my girlfriend and
playing some Rainbow Six Vegas :D

But today in lunchbreak i was hardly working
instead of eating something, so i could show some
progress this evening. ;)

In the next steps i need to work out the concept
a littlebit more.

EDIT: forget the images :D

Just a small progress ... do not got much time this week :/

I am at 1300 tris now ... so i got a lot for details ... for trying to
convert him more and more into a castle. :D

Just make sure when you build him to make some considerations for his torso. Will he be able to bend forward for instance, that sort of thing. Looks good for the poly count though, keep it up man.

Thank you guys :)

It seems that i do not have the time to finish him within the deadline.
I've got serveral timecritical projects in the pipeline at work. :(
Long nights and short sleep. :uhh:

well I hope you'll still finish it someday, it looks really good. I'm sorry for your unfortunate deadlines :(
