I will start on the model once the model sheets on the Concept Entry thread of mine have been finished (end of this week I hope). From there on I will continue on both at the same time.

Click here to go to the Concept Art thread (http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=215)
Added Test sketch on: Wednesday 18th of april - 2007 at 05:55 PM.
Added scale Thumb on:Wednesday 25th of april - 2007 at 12:23 AM.

For now on I will be posting in this thread. I will keep updating this post as I go along, I want everything to be nice and tidy in one central post. And for people who quickly want to see the recent stuff, so they don't have to browse trough multiple pages if this thread ever gets that long.

I will model 1 of the twin gate keepers. They will be made of a magical wood covered with golden emblems and they will fit nicely into the gate doors.

Here is a Small material test I did today, trying to replicate some wierd bronzegreen copperish material that I thought might be interesting. Couple of hours work, and If you think you see clear seams.. then thats indeed the case :) Its all done fast

Sounds interesting, I can't wait to see what you have in store.

the back story's pretty bad ass. it'd be cool if there was sort of a dormant form when their not activated & it changes when the monks do activate it. just something like a totem or a block shape that it converts between. just an idea.

You will know when you see it :) because when they are activated they like kinda come to live and step out of the wood of the gates ;)
At first sight it looks like they are 2 relief engravings on the gate doors, and I might so something with glow to add to the waking up or something else that looks spiffy.

Updated my concept art page. (link in the start Post)

edit: I will continue updating my conceptart page untill I get to the stage where I have a finished & clean rendered model sheet. So untill then, please comment on my concept art page. There are not alot of entry's in the conceptart section anyway, so some attention to those pages would be nice

Even with the seams, I'd be estactic to do something quite as nice. My modeling:texturing skill ratio is like 17:1. But, I'm here to even that out.

I'm sorry to say that I am cancelling the 3d entry. It was unrealistic from the beginning due to time restrictions. It is also an art form I don't want to put my focus at ATM.

Such a shame. I was looking forward to seeing this puzzle of an entry unfold. Looking forward to seeing you in the next comp then:)
