so here's my progress I have just started the sculpting so it still looks a bit or alot rough.
holy crap.. your rought painting in mudboz at such an high devision level.. If I where you i'd start putting in those forms in a lower level.

I gotta agree with Evil on this one. We don't have any sort of hint as to what it's going to entail as far as this character, but you're already off doing the higher res sculpting on this guy without a lower body kind of blocked out in place yet.
Is the head a seperate piece, with that flat bit in the middle there the neck?
I would have definitely blocked out the basic geometry before bringing it all into mudbox. you're kind of just setting yourself up for extra work later.
what is the idea with the character? do you have a concept in mind or just sketching him in mudbox?

I have to agree ... seeing a concept would be fine.

thanks for the comments, i'll try to explain why i'm in mudbox:o during the DW2 ASH who came over to the 3dtotal side and introduced me and some others to TOPOGUN which allows you to create a lower res of your high res model, so i have bee practicing this type of work flow, but i do have a low mesh all ready ( which is what this model is ) i'll use it if it takes to long making with TOPOGUN.
kurocrash - "Is the head a seperate piece, with that flat bit in the middle there the neck? " yes it's just hiden atm along with the lower body
as for a concept i thought it was not a requirement ? i know it can help show where i'm heading, but i'm also doing some testing so time, time is tight as i'm sure everyone else knows all about:D
i hope this explains it, um if the way i'm working on this one is not alright i'll change, back to my other way
cheers

that's all cool & no you don't need a concept, but it was just that you were very vague with this & we didn't seem to know where you were going with it. you posted it & with these other areas hidden & no other info, it kind of seemed like you skipped several steps along the way. but if you know what you're doing with it, don't let us stand in the way! :D work however you feel comfortable, just without that geometry present, it just looked like you were giving yourself more work in the long run.
and i only asked about the concept to see where you were intending to go with this guy, just as a frame of reference as the model progresses. concepts never hurt though lol
keep plugging away on him!

It's really nice so far, but his body is screaming for some alpha vines on his body and some alpha roots for his feet. How many polygons are you up to right now?

I don'T know if you were aiming for it or not but it would be hard to spot this creature in a wooden area. It looks really good and massive. the bell is a very nice addition, It can trap people in it and spit on them from a hole above the bell :D

Imperialism - yeah i have been working on doing some alpha's but so far they look like SHT, mainly due to not much room left on my UV's:o i'll see if i can re-arrange something. my tri count is around 4800 to 4900.
Vikkie - cool that was what i was aiming for:D although i have had a comment about it been well brown:confused: but whatever i guess you could call the sky blue most of the time.lol
