I like it. I love the idea of the "demon" cowboy, or whatever it is, but I think maybe, that the idea of a huge magic, sword is, well, it's been done before like a billion times. I don't know, maybe you can pull it off in an original way.

That turns out pretty cool. He kinda reminds me of Jericho Cross from Darkwatch. Is that demonic arm on his left? You could give him a demonic arm as his artifact.

Rocking it! Have you seen the covers for the gunslinger spawn comics? Because you should be doing them! Check em' out if nothing less. Hey, is his gun a musket? If so, it seems kinda odd with the rest of his motif'. Muzzle loaders were antiques when the rancheros came onto the scene. I know its not a matter of historical accuracy, but a revolver may fit in better? Looks lovely, the skulls are dynamite!

Muchomuchacho, Spawn is awesome!! Haven't read Gunslinger Spawn yet but I will. About the gun, I'm planning on changing it to a revolver... :-) I do realize, a flintlock pistol doesn't suit the character :-) thx alot mate :-)

Still need to think about the primary weapon, something huge and deadly :-(

wonderfully cool concept i love cowboy type designs, only issue i have is his Gun-blade looks too similer to Squals from ff8, so i think his weapon might need a bit of a re-work.

fthesign, I used to think :think: that the coat was great but it cover :paper: almost half of his body so I have to remove it and make him more cowboy - knight person :D . Thx for the comments dude :thumb:

bin, thx for the kind word bro ... the hand's power is errr...:think: unleashing a dark aura to enhanced the power of it's user(speed n power :brick: mostly) it can destroy almost anything :mad: the problem is sometime it can get uncontrollable :brick: and if it does happen, the user will go berserk :confused:

Here's GUNSLINGER KNIGHT's story...

As a son of one of the noble lord of the floating kingdom Lucracia, Grant Elvengard was raised in a wealthy and glamorous lifestyle. But gold never had been his interest in life. He always dreaming of becoming a great knight. With the aid of his father’s connection, he became a disciple of the kingdom’s best swordsman, the Demon Slayer, Sir Vauchstainten. He is a royal knight who was also having a passion in the art of blacksmithing. Since Lucracia are an anti demon kingdom, a great Demon Slayer such as sir Vauchstainten were praised as a hero.

Having no mother since birth and his father always traveling for diplomatic business, Grant always felt bored at home and ended up leaving with his Master so he can learn blacksmithing at night.

At the age of 13, Grant has already mastered the art of combat using a sword. He was often asked to come along with Sir Vauchstainten in his quest as a demon slayer.
Even though his master only ask him to watch the battle as he slay each and every demon he could find, Grant never complain and always stand from a far to watch his master doing his job.

Until one night, his master fought a great opponent. A high level demon, the son of Lord Satan him self, Belial. Grant never blinks his eyes while watching the fierce battle. That night, Grant saw something he thought will never happen. His master was lost. When Belial was about to give his final blow, Grant jump in front of him with his sword drawn. Belial walk toward Grant while smiling sinisterly at the boy.

Belial’s smile was fading when he saw a mark on Grant’s left hand. He screams hysterically:

“You are HIM!!! ABIGOR!!!! You are the traitor’s son…You are the half-blooded demon from the legend!! You are HER son!!! My sister’s son!!!”

Disbelieving what he heard from the demon, Grant swings his sword toward Belial while screaming:

“My mother was not a demon!!!”

Anger has blinded him. He keeps swinging his sword and fights the demon without realizing that he actually smiled with joy. His ambition to kill his opponent has consumed his consciousness.

Until he woke up and saw blood everywhere. He saw parts of Belial’s body everywhere. He saw a piece of Belial’s body with a mark just like his, a Satan family’s mark. Not far from where he stands, he saw his master, stoned with his eyes opened looking at him with disbelieving. Grant walk slowly toward his master. He stopped when he saw his master draw his sword toward him.

Vauchstainten: “I have raised a monster that I was sworn to kill”

Grant: “It’s me!! I’m not a monster!!! How could you say that?”

Vauchstainten:
“Back off demon!!! Or I’ll kill you with all the strength that I have left!!...I know that eyes… it’s more evil then any demon that I’ve met… You are that demon from the prophecy…the knight from hell, Satan’s descendant!!! Who will open the hell’s gate and lead the Satan’s Army of the Night!!”
“…You have dishonored me by saving my life tonight! Now leave at once!!! But the next time we meet, we will face each other as enemy…”

Grant turns his back on his master with his head down…

Vauchstainten: “I’ll tell your father, that you are died honorably by trying to safe my live…”

Grant run without saying a word and vanish in the dark of night.

Vauchstainten: “…Takecare yourself boy…”

Grant ended up in a place where nobody from his past could find him… a place far far away from his home. A place that not belong to a 13 years old boy. Coyote Canyon, a place where you can kill anyone without any good reason. A place where people rely on their speed of pulling the trigger to survive.

With his skill of blacksmithing that he learns from his master, Grant makes his own weapon, a weapon that will aid him to survive in this land, a combination of a revolver and a sword. The Gun Sword – Barbatos, The weapon that become his only friend for a few years.

One day he saves someone from Eyette tribe, a dessert elves tribe that leaves not far from Coyote Canyon. The elven girls that he saves happen to be the chief’s daughter. Since then, he was accepted by the tribe as their trusted friend.

Time goes by and the demon armor inside Grant is trying to consume him. With the help of Eyette tribe’s sorceress, he found a way to seal it. With a lot of help from the tribe, he was able to control half of the armor’s power.

But when the time “Dominance War” has reach Coyote Canyon, as the Sherriff, Grant try his best to protect his new home, even unleashing the demon armor inside him if he have to. From that day, the name “Gunslinger Knight” was born.

This is interesting, but it seems to have lost something between the awesome monochrome paintings, and this more final color look - it seems like now he's way too skinny and stretched, almost marionette puppet-like. And the runes around his left arm now seem more distracting and busy, instead of helping the overall concept and look. I still love the concept, but it seems now like he's much more robotic/skeletal than before.

Vditya: thx dude...takes me quite sometime just to write that story LoL when U're a demon,...I don't think u need to breath anymore LoL...too iron/steel...lets see...he's the only 'knight' in this competition equipped with armor only on his head, chest and left arm...Lol

ZDCoe: Thx a lot, specially for the input :) I make him skinnier then the 1st concept for a purpose :) I'll reduce the fx on his left hand in the final art :), too bad I don't have enough time to change the design...soo that would be my final design. I hope the last design still acceptable :)

Awesome, very cool final wip! The only thing I'd say is that the background seems pretty busy to me, and your character's getting a little hard to read - I'd almost want to try toning down the blues in the background so that the character stands out a little more clearly - great job though, looking forward to more! Love the extreme pose

Wow! The final pose rocks. At first I didn't even realize his progress of slicing through the robots can bee seen on the background.

I was just wondering how his gunblade works. The barrel of the six shooter seems blocked so I assume by pulling the trigger the knight unleashes a blast of energy from the blade, or am I shooting blanks here?

Nether, thx dude...:o , the sword is thick enough to have a barrel right in the middle. the Sword shoots normal bullets and it's not an artifact.:D

apanapola, thx for the compliment, he still need the revolver since he can't shoot magic (he's a warlord class) I even draw him using the revolver gun in the final sheet. Shooting while he role in the air(in the upper left corner) and hit a medium Robot (in the right corner) just for fun...:D

Nice work man It looks great!...just a thought for future reference...if you tone down the activity and the color (less saturated) taking place behind your character on your modeling and concept sheets it would help the character pop a little more....or at least make it a little easier to see...lookin good though GL :)
