Hi Fred, several of my posts have shown up now, but for instance, when I try to add a new post to my DomWar thread it still is telling me I'll have to be reviewed by the admin first.

Will I have to be reviewed each time throughout the comp or is there a specific # of posts I just have to post first?

Hey guys earlier last week I had messaged Fred about this same issue so this is for anyone else that is having this problem, because even if you post on this thread you still won't be visible so it won't do a whole lot of good, so here's the low down:

"I believe it takes a little while longer after I approve one your first posts. The system switches members user groups from basic to advanced every once in a while after approval. After a bit of time, less than 6 hours, you should be good forever :) "


So don't worry, it will work eventually! :)

For all new GA members, it takes up to 20 hours before posts are approved for new members. Once approved, you will never need moderation again. To make things quicker, post 2 comments somewhere (yes, they won't show until approved) and wait for them to be approved. Even after they are approved, it takes the system a little while to change your account's status from newb to official member. So the entire process can be 30 minutes if you are lucky, to 24 hours.

Please don't flood this thread or my pm box with "Please approve my posts" or "Where are my posts!!" messages.

im trying to post/submit my final dom war 4 images but it says my images that are 1200 high by 1000 wide exceed dimensions, and ive triple checked they under 350k. ive successfully posted my other 5 images, its just the 2 that are 1200 high that are a problem...
i had heard that images 1200 tall by 1000 wide were ok.
should i submit them sideways to be corrected later? that sounds risky...

1200h is not ok. Not sure where you found that it's ok. The maximum height for all images is 1000h. Do not submit them sideways because no one will flip them later;)

the worse case scenario::
i think that one possible way to ease the pain from FredH having to manually accept each file from per entries IF after 2 hrs the pipe is still being clog, is to zip up the require files and post on here, i think this forum accepts zip file extension, i think.

thought possible disadvantage to this process may bring virus slip undetected and unintentionally from us last minute entriers tho, not sure, anyone know if its possible?

PuiChe - I submitted a few entries for people and I got the white screen with sorry message too. I just kept pressing back and upload again. Then I got the other problem where the image failed to upload and caused some error code to show in entry form. Again, I resubmitted it till it worked. I then got problems with saving title, url, and finally with the submit finals button. Again, I did it until it worked.

So, unless you got a new error that no one else got, keep trying:D

Im not sure of the rules anymore on the presentation shot, I read the submissions section on their website and it says you may include a pedestal, but when you have a look on the actual submission page it says under Presentation Shot, "Poses must be placed on one large or two small pedestals"

crazyfingers, not sure how you got your thumb approved with no thread. I realize it's not easy to join a comp if you are new to the forums because first you must get a post approved (I don't believe creating a thread counts) and then you must get a thumbnail approved to begin your entry. On the plus side, you are right, it's good that you got your first post out of the way. In the future, you will always be able to post freely from this point on:) Still gotta get thumbnails approved for comps though:D

If you don't already know it, moderation for first time forum posters is in place because we get hit by an enormous amount of spam. Moderating first posts lets us catch the spam before the spamming user can post many posts all over the forum. In essence, this helps keep the site clean.

My thumbnail was on the page with everyone elses but when I clicked on it the darn thing disappeared and now I can't find it! What do I need to do? Should I resubmit everything and wait again?

GameHatcher, your thumbnail disapeared? Your thumbnail is the Blue "The Flood" thumbnail? I still see it. it might make it easier if you sort by recent update because otherwise, you might be on page 2 of thumbnails (100 on first page, 50 something on next page).

doananhtuan - The way it works is, when you go into your personal entry page (http://www.gameartisans.org/contests/competitions/7/join.html), you should only submit a 128x128 thumbnail and a title for your entry. When this is done, and when an admin (me) approves it, a forum thread will automatically be created for you here (3d) (http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20) or here (2d) (http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=22). For the next 5-6 weeks, you can post your updates in your wip (work in progress) thread and get feedback from the community. When the deadline is near, you must go back into your personal entry page and submit your final images. When your images are in, remember to press the Submit Finals button to complete your entry. mxdirector - yes, you must not create a thread manually. A thread will automatically be created for you after you submit a 128x128 thumb and title and then wait for admin to approve that. When apprived, an official thread will be created for you. Use the submit finals section of the form when you have your final images ready for upload.

Hi guys, I suppose that this question was probably already revealed in this thread, but maybe somebody could one more time state it for me, in brief section it is said that Game Artisans will not be held responsible for late or missing entries but there is nothing said about which entries are considered to be late exactly, so broadly speaking may I join the comp now ? if you are using the attach file features of GA, then yes, the maximum size is about 800 wide and 900 high I believe. Nobody usually uses 2000 wide images as people find it annoying when they have to scroll their screen left or right. If you want to go big, I'd suggest 1400wide tops:thumb:

Otherwise, use put in your full link here to show an image in your post. Don't use the attach file features of GA:)

I don't know if any of you can help me but I uploaded my final images and the top image said it needed 12 hrs for a moderator.
So I still uploaded all of my pics and submitted everything but it is still showing the old image, so is it going to auto update in 12 hrs?
