Here are my initial thumbnails. I'm doing the invoker, still haven't decided whether or not i want the artifact weapon to be Water Based, Darkness/Void, or a Summon. I'm leaning more towards Water. Crits and Comments Welcome.

Holy crap you've got these ocean-like designs down. I love these sketches and the one you picked is going to be great to see in 3d if you go through with it.

Anyway, once I saw the creature I could imagine in in the war field.
Pretty amazing design, I personally like 15 but if you put those two together and fight, I'd feel that 4B is much more dangerous looking. Would love to see it in color.:thumb:

Ya I had a tough time trying to decide which ones I wanted to do b/c I also like 4A, 4C, 15, and 17...

Now that I've had a couple of days to think about it I am going to take some of these to the next level....Anybody that has any favorites out of those thumbs I would appreciate any feedback...Thanks

Alright- well, here's my input.
I really like the nautilus/tentacles mainly because I haven't seen them anywhere else in such an extreme and interesting manner. If you go with the shell, I'd like to see what you would end up doing with it (texture, shape, color)
I really like 15 but it reminds me a little of

Out of the 4's, I like B the most, and numbers 1, 5C, and 17
You really did do a ton of great thumbnails, I'd imagine it would be pretty difficult to choose.

That looks awesome. I think that's a good decision to go 4B. Are you planning to have something crazy for the tentacles/legs? I think the tentacles/legs on the sketch look really cool because they look like humans attached to the end of them (you can kinda see the arms, heads, spines, etc.)

silent_fox..ya they will most likely be octopus arms w/ tentacles for the legs...but that might change slightly ...not 100% sure...I Def. like the direction of it now its just a matter of tinkering with the details.....that was pretty cool that you saw that from the sketch...wasn't what I was intending but I like it ...it sounds creepy envisioning it anyways...that idea was something I was thinking for sketch #1 actually...any how Thanks again


SpikeCB Ya I was planning on doing some sort of Trident with the artifact in it ....but I want to play around with some ideas to see if I come up with something different...

I loosely painted these guys up just to get a better feel for them...I like them along with all of the other sketches...
(I am just going to paint them up later though for my portfolio)...but for this competition, I am going to stick with 4B just going to start working out the details of her armor, weapon(s) and all of that fun stuff...

Dude Aaron you cant just take a picture of your mom :paper: and expect to win. lol jk. Its coming out great man, my only complaint is that its kinda difficult to make out whats going on in the face region of the character see if you cant do something to make it more clear perhaps using fewer tentacles on the face and making them larger would help. Keep up the good work.:thumb:

Down to the last stretch....fun stuff ...It's pretty late my time so I'm going to try and make this quick....Here is my ortho ...I just need to do a few little minor tweaks to it and that's all set...and then the start of the character sheet...which I know I will need to change that format to the req. format...and some illustration thumbs....I didn't like her color..so I am scrapping that and the last illustration thumb is a rough idea of what I want to go with but it still needs some tweaking though and I am changing the format b/c I thought from reading some of the other posts that we had to have a square format...but I was wrong, just as long as its within the given 1000 by 1000...

Well hopefully I should be finished with the Illustration sometime early this morning...:)...but so far here is some of my color thumbs and my WIP on the Illustration as of now...

I am going to put some kind of broken robot hand kind of floating/sinking down in the foreground there...something subtle to help with scale and there is also going to be dripping water off the tentacles as well....any suggestions or comments are always appreciated..

This has to be one of the weirdest octopus like bugger I've ever seen. Just marvelous work. I especially like the detailed modeling sheet. The final pose also looks very dynamic and has good strong dark colors.
