He's kind of based on this other character I had made before that I was thinking of translating into Giant Mode but I decided I wanted to make something new soooo i turned him into a bird
He's got gross tendrils that are either going to come out of his chest area or from random soft bits of the body like parasites burrowing out of the skin!
And I'll probably give him a big Rasputin beard as well
I worry that he's a bit too Skeksi like though

started the head last night

he will have a beard
haven't done enough normal mapped stuff to know if i should create real dimension for the beard or if i should just leave it to alpha planes. not real confident zbrushing hair but uncertain how it'd look with only certain parts normal mapped with a bunch of hair sticking out of it
also uncertain if i should drop my limited knowledge of zbrush to try mudbox since the workflow from maya seems to be a lot more simple :0?

Great looking head, love the idea. I personally would go the alfa way with the hair.

Drawing the muscles help me figure out where to actually model them

Drawing the muscles is a cool idea... I may have to try that out... I would put the wings behind the arms or on top of them but not in front just seems unnatural to me.. but that's just my opinion.

i'm sensing a lot of dark crystal throughout lol digging it thus far! how are the tendrils going to be attached vs. the musculature?

Nice, you hit it right on the nail... this looks just like a Skeksis with wings! Do a search on Google for that you will get allot of good reference.

hmm... drawing the muscles is an interesting idea... i'm just starting off with learning some solid human anatomy... might use that to help me train better.
on another note, i really love this concept. It's looking amazing, and the model seems like its fulfilling its duty!
cant wait to see more :D
This is great I like where this is going.
