C and C are very much welcome.

I prefer the first design, it just "feels" huge.

george.vas
04-30-2007, 12:56 AM
I concur, the first designs proportions just screamed massive. This one needs the human to sell it...

Frozan
04-30-2007, 02:37 AM
no i like the second one it will make sure i win :P no there right the first one is more solid

cabertevon

no i like the second one it will make sure i win :P no there right the first one is more solid

Ha ha ha…you just gave me an idea.
I will make a hybrid of the two creatures to keep you confuse (Joking). Thanks ;)

Anyways, all opinions are highly considered.:thumb:

To “ThatDon” and ”George.Vas” thank you also.

First one rules! The rocky look, the runes of binding, the great proportions, all spell awesome man. The second one is ok too I suppose, but, bah, stick with the first:)

Just curious, does he really need a long tail? I find the long tail makes him look somewhat more cute when it's in. I expect him to wag it when he is happy. Perhaps if you made the tail shorter and end with a lump, this could be cool. Everything else looks great man

Frozan
04-30-2007, 02:40 PM
ohhh no!!!! what have i done. ive awaken the monster within... Run! :P

cabertevon
05-01-2007, 09:13 AM
FredH – Your opinion was highly appreciated. :)
My intention of a long tail was suppose to give a good sense of balance and proportion between the head and rear limb.

Frozan- I really hope so.

Anyways, here’s third breed.

I have one of those, it's a Temple Guardian.

Whats your name on GW, I go by Thonatos Mors.

cabertevon
05-01-2007, 08:53 PM
Hmmm…. Nice. Thanks.

I have not played GW since then and this is my first time to see that Quadruped creature. It was indeed a surprise to my end.

I may conclude that both creature rooted on same four-footed animal; Lion to be exact.

However, mine is a fusion of Lion (Torso,Limbs), Crocodile (Skin), Cat (Head), Snake (Tail), Horse (Muscle).

Comparing the two made me smile.

Elias Canetti once noted:
“It doesn't matter how new an idea is: what matters is how new it becomes.”

Obviously my creation is nastier I may say.

Wow you my friend has some oozing talent.

The only beef I have with your concept is that your front legs seems a bit to 'chumpy'.

cabertevon
05-02-2007, 03:23 AM
Thanks George!

Here’s the front view of the head

Björn Sörensen –Hi and thank you very much, I will make a note on your comment

Antimagic

The shorter tail looks much much better. If you can combine your last image with the large solid rock like feet of the first, this would look great (personal opinion:) )

The front face shots looks really good!

FredH
05-02-2007, 11:19 PM
and... you have to keep the magical runes! Feet and rock look from first, together with the runes = gold:)

The shorter tail looks much better. Really nice work man.

Antimagic – Hi. Thanks for the comment. I tried the shorter tail but it won’t work well with the creature’s huge head. Instead I made the tail a tad slimmer….Thanks again.

FredH – Magical runes are back….thanks man. I may retain the rocky look of the legs in later part.

As the idea evolves, I’m considering this creature living in a rainforest. So, rocky legs may not fit. Your suggestions are valuable in a way.

i really liked the first one the most... but that may be because of the viewing angle aswell? the third looks wicked too! just not too hot about the 2nd one though?

EDIT: crap, didn't notice the second page! haha!
sorry about that.... ignore my comment :D

Centrifuge

this creature concept is awesome! I do like the pov of the first one more, because it made him seem much more imposing....but I like the overall design you have now. the different textures of scales and bone really give it a menacing feel. it deffinately looks more vicious, faster and more agile. I wouldnt want to see it face to face thats for sure...good stuff

cabertevon
05-08-2007, 12:52 AM
ThatDon – Thanks again
Vikkie - Me either :)
Kus Umok – “Humongous” Yes you spelled it right
Nyx702 –Whoa thank you for taking time visiting my site.

Hi. I would like to share with you guys my winning pose.

Hope you guys like it. :)
http://www.cabertevon.com/gameartisan/sapatcolored.jpg

FredH
05-28-2007, 11:57 AM
Oh my, you put a lot of color on him, so much in fact, that you are almost hiding the creature. It looks good, but this image might pull your entry down a bit because it is unclear. I don't know if you have time or not, but if you do, perhaps if you tone down the photoshop filters and colors, this would bring out your creature more. If you handed in your finals already, you could always email me a new image before tonight's deadline. I can then switch it.

You did some great work already, with a bit more tweaking, I am positive this will be great as well!

Jill'san
05-28-2007, 12:53 PM
Really cool, but I also have to agree with Fred. I think it's the glass filter above the creature that is doing the most damage. If you can simplify this somehow, you'd have a possible winner:)
