Ooo, Do show us some more.

Looks like a really nice concept.

So yea... I was inspired to enter the competition when a friend of mine (KruddMan) did a couple days ago. I did this quick concept yesterday in an attempt to solidify a vague concept I blocked out the day before that in Maya. Here is my Photoshop concept and the Maya model that preceded it...

If I knew the scale... then sure! =) This is actually one of the very first projects where I took the time to come up with a concept. I'll figure out his scale down the road while I model him out.

You're from Seattle eh? I grew up on Mercer Island, attending college in Portland, Oregon now. Parents live in Bellevue... I visit them inbetween terms.

I fiddled around with the face today. As you can see, the creature is probably going to turn into something a little different then the concept shown above... not that it's a bad thing, it's just how my design process works at the moment.

Interesting way of modeling. I've never done it like this before but I can really see the usefulness of it.

Should give it a go perhaps.

i like how the front legs kind of gnarl backward in the concept. i understand how you're blocking it out, but keep that because it's a nice touch. he's got an awesome form, but the color scheme seems a bit on the plain side. so maybe some color variation in the texturing? or how about details on him?
also, as far as scale, i'd suggest maybe giving it around 10-15 feet of clearance, so the player's scale to this guy is close to basically the width of that back foot.

Oink, I model the same way he does. I always work in edge mode and shift pull the edegs. Its sooo quick and easy.

OneFuzzyBrain --> His face is really looking good. No crits from me, it's all looking good man. Nice form, nice face, nice everything:)

I got around to modeling some more. I've got a lot of work to do and I don't know if I'll be able to finish, but I'll try... a little busy with school work.

Very nice character and interesting workflow. His face has a lot of character to it, can't wait to see this progress.

worked on him some more. I've got school work I'm supposed to be doing right now, but oh well...

I'll try to atleast finish the low-poly for the contest.

i haven't had much time to work on my creature cause of this HL2 mod i'm workin' on for school. I'm not really going to bother with lighting and posing him at the moment, it seems unnecessary. If anyone is interested I am probably going to post a thread in the W.I.P. forum on cgtalk.com, where I will finish up the creature.

Posting the "final" now...

Well, I think you have a winner with the beauty shot Lol It's a shame you were not able to finish. His proportions were really pleasing. I hope you will post an update here when you are done with him. It would be great to see him finished.
