I am having somewhat of a time deciding what to do...I had so many cool images go through my head with the topic. I think I may decide on something from the ocean...

water? But the crab-like creature is soo cool! This counts as water too right? So you will be doing this one?
The others are pretty cool too. Nice start:)

those thumbs are slick, I really like them. personally I think the big guy [bottom right corner] with the crab thing as a head and the flying bug with wings imbedded in his back would look pretty awesome....either way you got some great ideas going...lets see some more!

Do you guys think I have time to go back and do the crab? What about the title of the forum?

Lol, that's wicked man. If it can go on land, all the better. The small canoe to show it's scale was a very nice touch. My only crit would be, I wonder if he would look bigger if you cropped your image more and made him the biggest element in your illustration. Maybe it'd be better, maybe not. Not sure:inocent: Regardless, it's looking relaly good so far. Keep it up!

Ah! awesome idea! A little more like this? I think I may move that left moutian over behind his tenical though so to give more contrast in the the eventual painting.

I agree with Nyx702.

What if you put him higher up on the page so viewers look at the big empty water (with one boat) and then see that freaking huge giant in the distance? Additionally, if you made his tentacle go off the page on the right, this might make it look like your behemoth is pulling himself forward. These are just suggestions:paper: It's already looking really good!

To supplement Antimagic's suggestions: Make the tentacle (that go off the right screen) pops on the foreground just near the boat. And if you can turn the creature's head a tad on the right facing the boat would be more dramatic.

oh my, now I am tempted to add things:p
I have to agree with all the changes. I especially like the suprised lines on the fishing man:p
About the head, I don't know if twisting it towards the fishing man is necessary. In movies, I find it's usually more scary if the head remains looking another way... but one eye is looking directly at you. This freaks me out everytime!

This is awesome! Thanks guys! I like all the changes. At first I was hesitant about the tentacle coming off the page but with it coming out of the water I really like it!
The surprise lines are great!

What time of day will you make this shot? If it's a night shot with fire burning in the back, this could be interesting.

I was thinking about early morning. With like some pale fog rising across the water. A peaceful morning with the local fishermen rowing out to sea...then AHHHH HOLY JESUS A HUGE NAUTILUS!!!!
I think this looks better with a color bg, what do you guys think?

Ahh, yes, a morning peaceful shot would look great. That would explain why the fisherman is so surprised (refering to the surprised lines of course:p ).
This color modeling sheet looks really cool, however, you are only allowed to use one color tone for everything. So if the backround is blue, the nautolus must be blue too. Basically, use a hue/saturation layer and turn everything into one color.

...That's what I though...(about the model sheet) but someone mentioned adding color too it. I think I may just keep it gray scale.

this is getting better and better. However, I kind of liked the side beaches that made the water like an arrow pointing towards the nautilus? It also helped unite the top half with the bottom half of the image.
In this one here, the land was made rounder:

I guess I am just being picky:inocent:

I don't where else to go from here. I have been working in it most of the day and maybe i just need some fresh eyes? Any advice on where to go next would be awesome!
