Hi all,

erm... don't really know what to say.. well, I came in peace :paper:

anyway, I've been working as a modeler/texture artist for the past several years and got bored eventually. I don't want to offend anyone, but I guess it wasn't my calling. So I decided to learn something new and it's environment design in particular.

After spending about a week in my nine storey bunker (I've got like 1/4 of the entire 4th floor), I produced several pieces of utter garbage, which I'll keep somewhere safe, kek. After that, I made this picture, using what I've learned from previous ones. And now I need some input. Anything would do. Comments, crits, suggestions. I've already got some nice tips on other boards, but there is no such thing as too much comments, right? :D

This is already edited version of original picture, and I'm planning to do at least one more update.

looks pretty good so far. one thing Id say tho is that the blur on the lights along the floor may be just a bit too much. perhaps if you toned it down a bit, it would give the floor lights more definition. also the walls to the right side look sort of bare, maybe you could put a few details on there, might break up that side a bit. I like where its going tho Ill be watching for the next update

Hey, this is pretty cool. You have a great base here. The colors and mood look very convincing, the only thing that is missing are more details. Where the floor meets the lights along the walls, it would be great if you put in some sort of a lining or something. The floor light areas themselves could use a grate or rods or something placed on top of them.

Looking forward to your final update.

Thanks for replies guys. Actually read it last week, I was planning to finish this one sooner, but got busy with.. stuff. You know, work, etc... starcraft 2.. kept me occupied, lol

Centrifuge, glow is actually tuned down alot, since first version :) I kinda wanted to get this feeling when you see the direction light comes from, but at the same time you can't see what exactly is the light source. As for wall details, yep they're coming, thanks.

Fred, thanks :) Details seems to be my problem indeed, everyone pointing at this. I did some work with concrete (not the real concrete, I was painting something else), and learned few things which I'll most likely use in this work too.

Anyway, I'll try to show something in the middle of the week.. probably :) Thanks

I think all that is needed is a bunch of interesting overlays (distorted to fit). Manually painting additional details could be a pain.

How about a trash can that fits this time period, and a flat screen on the wall, or some sort of station where you can type? Future is all about computers, easy access computers, like telephone booths use to be.

the new lights are tits up, however the hatch on the floor looks like it could us some shadows/highlights in places to add some depth before you set this one aside...
