So I'm going with a huge mechanized elephant for now. I started wanting to create a machine built and maintained by humans, in a steampunk style. I first started out with a ladybug idea, which i illustrated a bit further but when I started thinking about other animals I felt like an elephant's trunk makes a great canon. Here's my first ladybug sketch and the elephant wip sketch I'm using now.

cool idea:) there is one strange thing though, how come there is a ladder on the nose gun? It looks strange having a ladder along a retractable and moving nose barrel, plus, the ladder doesn't originate from the same base as the barrel.
Looking forward to seeing how you bring this guy to life:)

Thanks Antimagic, the ladder is actually a platform (representing a tusk). You can see the picture above, where the barrel of the nose is lowered and the tusk pennisulas are extended out. The tusks are platforms for crew members to view inside the barrel for any problems, once the barrel is retracted that is. :)

very neat idea! the shape of it might be a little too cutesy for essentially a walking tank, but maybe once it's closer to completion. keep going!
