Hey guys, my first post here! I found this place a couple of weeks ago and i've been meaning to make an intro thread since, but i've been hella busy. I'll let this be my intro :)

As this project stands i've already churned out a concept and almost a complete lowpoly, all the way down to the UV's and initial textures. After having had a week or so break from it now though i've realised that i want a lot of things to be different, and that i'd sacrificed my vision based on he game i'm going to be putting this in (tes4). So, i jumped back to the drawing board.

Here's (http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3933/outthere5qn1.jpg) the original concept, and here's (http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/8782/dunit06lg0.jpg) the last shot of the model before i decided to start over. For those of you who have played tes4 i'm sure you can see why i tried to tone it down a bit at first, but now i'm making it for me, not to fit into the game lore.

The one thing i did like about the original is the torso area, so not much of that will be changing. I've sketched up some new concepts for the arms and legs however, so i'll get this thread started with them :)

Comments and crits are welcomed! And sorry about the long post, well done if you got this far :)

You need to work on your arm proportions.

Welcome to gameartisans:)

Yes, like ThatDon pointed out, the arms need some tweaking. They look to short. I think another thing that is effecting the proportions of your arms are his waist. His waist belt looks very low, so since it doesn't like up with his elbows, it is making the arms look even shorter.

Besides that, it's looking really good so far. You made a nice start. Hope you have time to fix the concept since this could damage your model if you start on it too soon:)

Cheers for the comments guys.

ThatDon - Yeah, there's a reason i didn't post the old concept in IMG tags haha :). I'd go as far as to say pretty much all of the proportions are off in it honestly, but that's down to me being lazy with it so i could get the idea out of my head quickly.

Now that you mention it though i also see that the upper arms on my quick ideas are too long as well so yeah, looks like i need to pay more attention to size. They're only quickies, but it's still good practise to make sure i have it right every time.

Fred- Thanks for the welcome, it's much appreciated! I will be drawing the fullbody concept again in a more natural position once i have all the plans for the different areas down, although then again because i always seem to get busy when i do stuff for myself i might just have to settle for ortho's and skip the fullbody concept.

Unfortunately when it comes down to the proportions of the model i have no choice. With oblivion it's not yet possible to import your own rig, so i'm stuck with theirs for now. It sucks, but there's not much i can do about it if i want to see this guy in there.

With regards to this guy- I had a cool idea that would most likely push the boundaries of the game engine pretty far but i really would like to see this kind of thing, instead of a human sized power armour.

It would also let me go to town with details and the size of the limbs in which human bodyparts don't reside.
