Steampunk Gateway

Hey fellas, I started this as a concept for the gateway minicomp, but got a little too into it, so I think I'm gonna focus on taking it into completion.

Below is my initial thumbnail, and where I am now, a couple hours in.

I like the clean vivid colors, as opposed to steam-punk normal grunge. I'd say keep going on that direction, but don't let my opinion stifle the creative juices!

I'm by no means the best authority on this, but it feels like the area with the curtain is going to be really empty next to all the machinery; maybe if you had someone peeking in from around the edge of the curtain it would draw the eye there? Or maybe just catching someone stepping out of the room that way. I think adding even the suggestion of a person to the mix would really add to it. Great colors, I really hope you render this out fully, it'll be beautiful!

... I think if you added the guy peaking in rather than walking out it would keep the viewer's eye in the painting. Anyway, carry on! :D
