Hey Guys!

Glad to see something rose from the ashes of CG Chat. Me too, in a manner (for those of you who remember me ;) )

Newbie question:

DWar III seems to be finished, but there are postings and models galore.

What is CURRENTLY going on? I haven't really modeled anything a couple of years, but I'd love to get back in the game, so to speak.

I love the new forum here, but I'm a little lost. No matter how organized it seems, I can't find what comps are current and which ones are completely closed. I'm looking to the old hands from 'Chat to show me around. :brick:

Thanks yawl, good to be back.

J

Hey there, Jono. Yeah. I remember you. Actually, I ran into a post of yours at CG Chat last month. :) I like your old avatar better. Creepier. :)

What is CURRENTLY going on?
You mean what's in the pipeline?
Another biggie is coming up. "The Unearthly Challenge" http://gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3747
Mwahahahahaha!!!! :)

Apart from that, there are always some smaller challenges going on. Right now, there's "MinCHALLENGE#13 GATEWAY TO THE AFTERLIFE" (http://gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3618) is nearing its end. Another one will likely be right around the corner to fill the gap soon enough.

That shouldn't stop you from posting questions, WIPs, or whatever else you've got that might get the creative juices going.

As for the where and the what of everything else here... Same basic thing as CG Chat. WIPs go in the WIP section. General chit chat goes here. Finished stuff makes its way to the showcase. MiniCHALLENGES fall in with WIPs, with the latest being closest to the top (usually stickied). That's the only unusually placed one.

More or less the same though. Just browse through the index: http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/index.php

You're free to drop in some suggestions how GA can better serve you and kick the crap out of the competition. :)

Who can forget Ghostworks??? I wish I could go back into realtimecg to refresh my memory about all your works, but, it's offline at the moment:flag: Regardless, I still remember your name:) It's Nice to see you around these parts.

Yeah, I can understand your confusion about GA.org. It takes a little while to get familiar with where everything goes. Once you settle in though, I hope you will like some of the new systems.

Thanks guys. I've posted some of my old work on the site I'm building... still trying to motivate myself to get going here again in MTL. You must know about that one Fred ;)

And yeah I like my old avatar better, I'll update it soon.

Nice looking site, though. Top notch!

yeah, my motivational methods include loosing my internet connection wire, and getting out of the house and going to the library to work. It's never easy keeping continually inspired.
