image browser for .3ds or .max files?

Hi, anyone here know any freeware image browser for viewing .3ds or .max files? Thx!

For some reason I used to be able to view my .max files within windows folders. A small slight thumbnail so that I know whats inside the max file instead of opening each one, what happen to that option?

I don't get it anymore and would like to know how to get that back instead of an alternative image viewer like idegila is suggesting. If it is no longer available then I would ofcourse like to go with the 3rd party for my needs.

i think you need to set your windows folder to show a small image with .max files.
I don't have an english OS so bare with me.
I believe it's right mouse button (in your scenes folder) - > image/display -> miniature display

For .3ds, i don't think that's possible.

in vista is normal that i don't see any preview in folders?i think this have something to do with aero...however i never listened of something able to open .max format or the preview picture.Is . max format so secret?

I think I can view .max file in XP's Windpws Explorer, havent tried it in Vista.
