Hey, cool show and tell:) I still haven't seen the movie though but I am sure it can't be that bad? My friends said it was really good, but maybe to an artist, it's a different story. I'll have to check it out.

wasn't to impressed with spiderman, the cg was great, and I liked the venom design but that was it.. the rest wasn't to write home about.

I wished they kept the McFarlane Venom design; it was way cooler and this was the biggest downer of the film for me.:(

I haven't seen the movie jet, but I've watched some making off's. Damm they have build some nice tools to pull those effects off.

Sandstorm
a whole program for the sandman effects. Sandstorm works with Maya and Houdini.

Katana
a nodebased lighting\rendering program. (like RenderMan only better)
The programsare linux based. I'm not sure about this, but their pipeline runs on linux so..... do the math.

I watch these movies for the effects, not for the story or romance. I like it when I see something and don't know how it's done.
