Does anyone know where to get a handle on writing shaders?
I've downloaded FXComposer and, well, it's going along quite slowly and it's driving me CRAZY! I can't seem to get the hang of HLSL at all :brick:
So my question is either can anyone help me with FXComposer or a start on HLSL, tutorials and such I mean.
Thanks guys!

Don't start by playing with FX Composer it's better to learn HLSL you this way you will be able do do shader where ever you want, with FXComposer or not.

get your hands on unreal 3 and use its visual editor, tutorials come with it, then pick up ben clowards dvd. the visual editor will help you with the conceptual ideas. i did it in reverse and it was a lot of head banging, similar to beign in highschool and listening to heavy metal. hope that helps :) and keep at it.

I used FX composer in school for 3 months and it's not too bad, but can get quite confusing. I liked the class I guess, but you need to know trig very well.

I think GOW allows you to use the Unreal Editor? I saw some video tutorials where they were editing and playing in GOW on PC.
Yes GoW allow you to use the unreal editor with some minor restrictions
