Hey Artisans,

I was a frequent visitor here a while back, but after realizing that I lacked that innate artistic ability I decided to focus on the more technical aspects of game development. Since then, I am writing a game engine that will debut on Microsoft's XBox360 self-publishing service this fall (Xbox LIVE community games).

Originally I had planned on doing all the art myself since I felt like I still had one foot in that camp, but I feel like that may be too much for me to do (well), so I am looking for someone who wants to create art for a 3D space combat game.

Microsoft has yet to release details for self-publishers who wish to sell their games, but distribution will be free for publishers who want to give their games away at no charge.

So I plan on just giving the game away for free with hopes of it looking pretty on my resume, and am looking for an artist who shares that idea. There will be no pay. But you will get your artwork out to the public.

Qualifications are that your artwork quality will exceed that of what you see at www.clintcaywood.com (http://www.clintcaywood.com) .

Not a whole lot needs to be done, mostly I need two space fighters (alien and human). Anything else you want to make for the game (levels, textures, whatever) can be contributed; you'll have a lot of freedom as far as your involvement goes. I'll be there to help fill in the gaps, and I already have several assets made (which can be removed at your discretion, being the artist).

Time constraints are pretty lax, I'm aiming at having a beta testable by September. Information about the game can be seen here:

If you feel like getting creative, I can write you whatever shaders you need, too.

If you have an Xbox 360 and are A) a student or B) have $100 laying around I can pass you playable alpha builds. Otherwise I can build you a PC alpha (but it will run painfully slow and you need a newer graphics card).

Thanks, let me know if you are interested. I know there's a lot of talent here and I hope I can get a piece of it for this game.

Cool stuff... might look into moving this to the "employment" section, pay or not.
